If he doesn't fight Lacy, will the Brits stop talking about him all the time?

I cant speak for the Brits, Im a Washingtonian.

But...

It will be real easy to discredit him....I will always try to spin it the other way because I really love to watch him fight.

Think about this...

Calzaghe has a ton of title defenses and so does Hopkins, now Im not saying Hopkins is on Calzaghe level(Hopkins is on a higher pedestal obviously)...but let me spin it for a second.

Had Oscar and Tito not decided to come up and fight NArd his defenses are just as ****ty if not more ****ty than Joe's...Nard is one fortunate dude, Joe may not be so fortunate because smaller fighters like Hopkins were not will to take the risk that an Oscar or Tito were will to do.

Again that is my Joe Calzaghe defense mechanism coming out in me...sorry I dont mean to offend anybody but think about what I say for just a second. Nard is in a way one lucky ****-he had small fish wonder into his pond, Joe never had this luxury.

Well, I just wanna see Joe Calzaghe fight again. I saw him fight once and I was impressed with his abilities. He's accurate, he's fast and he's a very busy puncher. I just wish I'd see more of his fights with quality people I recognize as not over-the-hill.

I hope his fight with Lacy happens. I think it'll be a great match up of styles.

Good point about Hopkins not moving up, but on the whole his defenses are still better IMO.

I would have to say....I've never known of a fighter who has had such a lengthy, stagnant reign...like Calzaghe has had.
He really has been toiling in blandness forever now. There's always talk of him going to the next level, & it never materializes.
If he retired tomorrow it would make no difference.
