We thought Manny Pacquiao was great, he's much better than we thought.

      wtf?

      who said shot to ****? I know I didn't

and wtf does being ranked have to do with anything

you think Peden and Fana were awesome wins? you think the first Juarez fight wasn't close and didn't start to indicate how Barrera was past his prime?

dear goodness Mak please tell me you are not sitting there blindly defending Barrera to sake Manny?

this is as bad as people going up in arms over Barrera

Marco was still close enough to prime, combined with Manny being still raw, to where this is a great win

what Barrera did to Salud Hamed and Sanchez was an indication of the changes he had gone through from a puncher/boxer to a boxer/puncher

          and consider this

did anyone outside of a few diehard fans even know who Pacquiao was when he **** kicked Barrera?

no, not at all...but lets not make it seem like Barrera was being held up on strings fighting taxi cab drivers

he moved up in weight and took Morales' title

            whooped his mandatory challengers

then fought probably the best version of Juarez in his career

to insinuate that he was on his way out because of one loss is ridiculous...THAT version of Marco was still better than most fighters at that time

No doubt Tapia best weight was 115. But, still only one mad had beat him up to that point. And, he edged out a pretty solid FW contender at that time in Manuel Medina in a very competitive fight. Who was a better fighter than what his record indicated.

That win to me anyways for Tapia to skip 122(I think) showed that he wasn't what he once was. But, at least had something left. And, for Barrera to beat him the way he did. Is not really that deceptive IMO anyways.

Yes Kevin Kelly had seen better days. But, that is the way an elite fighter should do against a fighter like that version against Kevin Kelly. And, Barrera did that in 4 rounds.

I think he was prime. And, Barrera had a lot of momentum going for him. Like you said nobody really gave Pac a shot of winning. If you want to say it was close, I take that but. IMO he was prime. However, my opinion is just as good as the next man.

Just cuz I know the only one on here saying that Pac is not great but just very good are Floyd fans like Kev, Ferwhateverhisnameis, and TS. I will say this.

Floyd has never beaten anybody as versatile as that version of Barrera that Pac beat the first time.

too lazy to look it up but how many slick, defensive counter punchers has Floyd beaten?
