Maybe I need to read the story again but I thought it said that Dibella was willing to have Berto accept a 25-75 split in Cotto's favor. And all I'm saying is if that's the case, then nobody should be blamed for this fight not happening but Cotto and Arum.

This reminds me of what Dibella said about a couple months ago in regards to Caballero willing to lower his purse demands when it comes to fighting Gambos and Juan Ma. But the nuthuggers of those two guys keep saying Cab is pricing himself out. At least we heard his promoter say he's willing to be reasonable. Same thing here.

Although I will concede that we need to hear something from Caballero and Berto personally if you want me to be fair.

You gotta re read it. DiBella said "If Arum thinks Berto only deserves 25% then he's right, the fight will be difficult to make". That implies that 25% wouldn't do it.

I think 65-35 would be a good split. But if you look at my other thread, the numbers just don't add up to satisfy both fighters.

I actually think Berto should maybe get paid less than that. But that's not the point. The point is is just what some people are alluding to is that Arum is shutting down this fight completely without even talking directly to Dibella about it.

And most definitely. Berto-Cotto is a way better and more meaningful fight than Cotto vs. Chavez Jr. Chavez Jr. is worse than Freddy Hernandez is.

Berto probably only deserves 25% but it's a good fight and a fight people are interested in seeing. I'd say 65/35 split would be a good deal and fair. Each fighter has to budge to make a big fight happen and I think that would be enough budging by both.

Cotto has fought everyone after fighting Quintana, Judah and Mosley back to back and ***** Mayweather running away he deserved to take it easy and take fight with Gomez after which he fought Cheato. One guy has made a career out of beating on blown up 140 lbers and the other guy has made a career out of beating British rock drummers for vacant titles and finally won his first legit championship by beating a paralyzed hebrew on a ventilator.
