I'm telling you man, a 5 mile run will knock off 3-5 pounds, then you lose around 3 pounds in a normal 3 hour session at the gym. They just melt away. He doesn't even have to go on a strict diet.
Bro, where r u getting this stuff from? It takes 3,500 calories burned to lose one pound and 1 mile sure doesn't require 3,500 burned calories/energy. The weight you're losing during actual training is momentary and in the form of fluids. He will lose the weight because he's an athlete who does this for a living and because they'll do what they have to do. The problem with having to lose that much weight that fast is that it is very hard to do without also losing some muscle and without taxing your immune system. Both of which will affect your strength and endurance. He would obviously be in a much better position to compete on fight night if he allowed himself an average weekly weight loss of 2-3 LBS per week.
I thought Sergio won the first fight and I'd like to see him pull this one out but it upsets me to know that he has put himself in this position of having to lose all that weight in a short time. He might still b able to pull it out but I too wonder if this is his normal approach?
It seems like Queloque is the only one with sense in this thread.
All sergio has to do is get down to 163-165. That's about 11-13lbs in 4 weeks, which isn't ****, especially if you ever seen or went through a training camp.

165?
The fight is at 157.
November 20th.
To brush off him having to lose 20 pounds in 4 weeks as if its nothing is far fetched. Queloque also said Martinez should not had waited this late.
