If it was Mayweather vs Margarito, would you call it a cherrypick?

Nanny didn't accept random testing...he ran to fight Clottey instead. When the negotiations for the fight were taking place, Mayweather Offered Winky Wright a 80-20 Contract, and it had to be below 160 pounds. Everybody though that was a bluff deal because it was so against Wright that nobody thought he would accept it.
But wright did accept it, and from that point on mayweather vanished, all negotiations from his side ceased and we didn't hear about that fight at all after Wright accepted the terms.
Kind of like what Mayweather did when Pacquiao Accepted Random OST.
Remember???
He said he needed more than 14 days to recover from giving blood...

You're about 7 months behind.
ESPN, LA Times, HBO, The ring, Tim Schaefer, Max Kellerman, Bob Arum, De La Hoya and Pacquiao already confirmed that he agreed to full random, and Floyd has done nothing to deny it. When is the last time you heard a statement from the mayweather camp saying: "If he accepts random testing we'll whup his ass no question" after this was announced?
Answer: Never
It's all on Floyd now.Last edited by DARKSEID; 10-23-2010, 10:53 AM.Comment

Wrong, wrong, wrong, bro. Come on now. I am not even a Floyd fan. But, this is other BS right here bro. When the negotiations for the fight were taking place, Mayweather Offered Winky Wright a 80-20 Contract, and it had to be below 160 pounds. Everybody though that was a bluff deal because it was so against Wright that nobody thought he would accept it.

Look this was around 2005. Winky had just beaten Tito. Floyd was still at 140. There were talks of a fight at 154 between them. Winky was not 'washed up" at this time. He was very much prime. And, at the time could have still made 154, he was a small MW. With only MW fight was against Tito at that time. While Floyd was at 140. Floyd was going to skip the 147 division and go to 154 and fight Winky. Winky was going to down to 154 again.
Kind of like Pac-Oscar.....
Winky, a prime Winky, was the one who outpriced himself out. He demanded a 50/50 split against Floyd. Winky didn't accept shit. He demanded, outpriced himself out. Floyd took other option and just went to WW. Winky went on to fight Sam Soliman and then JT.
Winky has a history of this. He also turned down a 4mil(I think a career high) guarantee against Marg because he wanted the 8mil that Floyd got offered. Like if his marketability was on Floyd level.
He also turned down a 50/50 split for a rematch against Taylor. Because, he said he deserved a bigger split.
He also turned a career high payday against Oscar of 6mil. I mean who the fuck turns down Oscar? Seriously?
Winky always over valued himself for some reason.
To say he accepted Floyd 80/20 split is just not true. And, I never even heard of that split being offered.
So now I am just curious, where did you get that info from?Comment

I read it about it in some articles. I wasn't following the negotiations at the time. I guess they were wrong.
Admittedly this was at the time where the Mayweather hate bandwagon was in full motion so it must have been a biased unreputable source.Last edited by DARKSEID; 10-23-2010, 11:01 AM.Comment

I can't find them. I was looking for the evidence to back my claims up but I couldn't find any, that's why I'm not challenging Jro's reply.
There are pretty much no articles on winky and mayweather left , I couldn't find anything about their negotiations. Nothing to support or refute any claim.
You just had to have been following them when it was taking place, and I wasn't at the time, so there's no way to tell.Last edited by DARKSEID; 10-23-2010, 11:12 AM.Comment
