Um what the **** else do you want him to do? He punched the **** out of Briggs. The last I checked this is still boxing and you're only allowed to use you hands. If they came out trying to be like Tyson they would leave themselves open and get clipped. Big tall guys with long arms fight most effective with their style. Why would they come out and possibly get KO'd early in the fight just to please you?

Briggs took one too many shots to the head last night, I think he might have sustained brain damage after hearing those comments.
But seriously, that's Briggs' opinion, and he's been in the ring with all 3 of them. I know comparing a fat, old Foreman to Vitali is kind of crazy.
Vitali just gave the worst beating that Briggs has ever faced. So it makes sense that Briggs would say something like that.
Lewis did score a knockout in the 5th, so you could say he spared Briggs a horrific beating if he would have actually went the distance. And Briggs-Foreman was a close fight, in which Briggs actually won.
So his comments make sense if you put yourself in his shoes. He got really humbled last night for twelve straight rounds. But Prime Lewis and Foreman beat both Klitschkos, imo.Comment

That was a Lewis who had to get payback for being KO'd by Rahman himself. Lewis needed that KO. Rahman just came to survive against Klits. When someones main purpose is just to survive it's very hard to score a KO. There are alot of uneducated people here.Exactly. I find it laughable how the current Heavyweights struggle with guys Lennox murdered 10 years ago....
Wlad went 7 rounds with Rahman, and Rahman was fully conscious when the fight was stopped. Compare that to what Lennox did in 4 rounds against the PRIME version:

And then Big bro Vitali tries to copy and imitate the Lennox overhand right. He fails misreably at ending the fight against the shell of Shannon Briggs.
Lastly you have Adamek who goes 12 rounds with Glass-chin Michael Grant and almost gets kod. THis era is absolute garbage and none of these bums can live up to the greats of the past.Comment

The way past his prime version of Foreman gave Holyfield a very tough fight, whereas a prime Foreman lost to Jimmy Young. In some ways he was a better, cagier, less wild fighter when he came back from retirement, although obviously a less frightening one; and he still had his power, as the Moorer fight showed. That said, he never hit Briggs with a really clean power shot.Comment

What does being black have to do with it? Wlad got knocked out by Puritty (1998)TKO, Sanders (2003), and Brewster (2004). Vitali lost to Byrd (2000) and Lewis (2003). How the hell could they have hung with Tyson, Holifield and Lewis? Stop being a racist and deal with facts instead of racist emotions.
Tyson would KO both Klits in under 3 or 4 rds. Stylistically he murders them. They can hang with Holyfield style wise and to a lesser extent Lewis.....but honestly the way Tyson fought these guys would get murdered.Comment

Foreman was smarter and didn't gas in the comeback. He says that it had nothing to do with physical stamina, of which he had more when he was younger. He said it was just sheer relaxation....he was too nervous, pent up etc etc when he was young and that made him gass early.
Also Jimmy Young in underrated........IMHO he beat Ali in their fight.Comment

Briggs was a full 35 lbs bigger against Vitali and it helped him soak up the punishment. He also never bothered to exhaust himself because he never landed a punch worth following up.
Had Vitali been fighting a 228lb more aggressive version of Briggs he would have put him away very early.
i agree.....but what i don't agree with is proclamatins of GOTA status after having beaten......wait for it.......Shannon Briggs.
