I never said Peterson wasn't learning too, I was just reminding u that Ortiz could learn from the mistakes he made in the Maidana fights. There was more for Ortiz to learn in that fight (changing up styles, fight smart, repercussions of quitting in this sport), than there was for Peterson to learn (Change up styles... maybe try a plan b or c).

This is a common error people make. Yes, to a certain extent heart is something u have to already have in order to excel in most sports. However, people don't know that it actually can be taught. What people don't realize is the words HEART and WILL r just synonyms to the term MENTAL TOUGHNESS. Think what they do in the military. There r multiple ways to teach a person mental toughness, and I've already explained the minimum. Where Ortiz will now know what will await him (with the fans) if he quits, he'll think about that, and weigh that against going the distance while taking a beating. That is what he (hopefully) learned.

What we both know about these 2 is that Ortiz has the ability to KO Peterson with one punch. I'm sure this and my other 5 comments established this by now. And really, that's all we need to know. I didn't say that the fight WILL FOR SURE end in a first or second round KO. I'm merely saying it can, and that there's a good chance it will. There's a far better chance Ortiz KO's Peterson in the first round than there is that Peterson makes Ortiz quit.

And I've pointed out a couple of different times Peterson doesn't have what Maidana had. And that's monstrous punching power. That is the major difference between them. I've already said that it's not just PRESSURE that will make Ortiz quit, it's that specific kind of pressure. Diaz and Alatorre already administered the same kind of pressure against Ortiz that Peterson will. Maybe the younger, more skilled Peterson will tweak that one way or another, but it's basically the same. And we know how Ortiz handled the pressure from those 2. It shouldn't be too much harder handling Petersons.

First of all, any judge that gave Peterson more than one or 2 rounds is on crack.
Second of all, believe me, I'm a huge Bradley fan (more so than an Ortiz fan) and I watched that fight a million times. From I believe it was round 5 to round 12 Peterson did the same thing over and over. There was not a single change in his style. And it was from rounds 5 to 12 that Bradley officially adjusted to Peterson's style. So basically from 5 to 12 it was smooth sailing for Bradley since he already adjusted to Peterson's style, and Peterson wasn't changing anything up. That was just going through the motions.

yes... But these facts don't make the speech (sorry, I don't know what else to call it now) any less irrelevant to the conversation.

    Understood...

Lmao, I had a feeling u'd say something like this. I just didn't want to specify cuz I just felt the message was long enough already. But here is goes...
What I meant was the point in the Harris fight, which I believe was the end of round 2, where Ortiz was going for the Kill, and Harris landed a pretty good right that seemed to have stunned Ortiz. What happened next was proof he learned something from the Maidana fight. What Ortiz did was stop going for the kill, as he understood the guy he just knocked down 2 (or maybe 3) times was still a live opponent, and he went back to taking his time (boo-yah ). If he'd have done that in the Maidana fight, he'd be looked at a little differently now, don't u agree?

Btw, I think u meant "Peterson is not Harris"

    • Well i think this will be a good test for Ortiz. His last two fights with Harris and Campbell werent all that impressive. Campbell was a slower older fighter with not that much left and Harris well anyone who saw that fight i wont say one word more lol. Ortiz is still young which makes him a very hungry fighter wanting to make a statement.
