I love how there's now this mystique about Al Haymon, a guy that so many know so little about, other than that he represents a bunch of boxers, that he has a lot of sway at the networks (particularly HBO), and that he's gotten his guys paid far more money than they deserve.

But beyond that, people make him out to be Keyser Soze. Heck, it might be true, but there's nothing to these thoughts but, "Hm, I bet..."

I have never heard anything negative about Haymon from a credible source.

By all accounts he seems to be honest, and a top guy to have in your corner.

Honestly, why would he do that ?

Friends have fought each other DOZENS of times throughout history.

I mean, they knew that they would likely have to fight each other from the start, so what? These guys are both professional fighters ffs, why would either of them avoid this fight because of a friendship outside the ring ?

Many friendships are born inside the ring, few - if any - have ended that way.

Good point I suppose, but like the writer stated earlier, folks tend to grab a line and run with it..... I haven't heard any negative things about haymon from a fighter/trainer/promoter/reporter, or anyone else actually involved in the sport.

Tell me, while we're on the subject..... what do you think of Bob Arum ?

i think hes great at building fighter's careers but his penchant for keeping things in house sucks for the sport. i think GBP is more open to working with other promoters than bob is.

Greisman, I'm sorry, but you're a terrible ****ing writer. I would comment on the subject matter but I didn't even finish the piece cuz you absolutely suck at writing. The ****tyness of this article made this whole topic even that much more frustrating. Go write for an MMA site.

David Greisman, by far, is one of the best if not the best writer this site has. Your unwillingness to even explain why you disagree with his piece is more telling about you than anything else. By your own admission you didn't even finish reading the article so that's a little like saying you aren't going to like a meal someone cooked you just by the way it smells.
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but yours doesn't seem to have any merit to it IMO.

Lots of back injuries are not detectable in any tests, assuming the person is a good actor.

A back injury is not likely to get you out of the tournament. IMO it merely warrants a postponement because such an injury, as said in another post, might be over in a week.

You have posted that crap over and over again, and every time I have pointed out that Post-concussive syndrome is a temporary disorder from which patients almost always make a complete recovery, usually within a year, and each time I have linked to the following article about Post-concussive syndrome, which you clearly don't even bother to read. Then you simply ignore my post and the linked article and post the same crap again, like a scratched record. Are you completely illiterate???

I know someone who has been off work for the past five years with a chronic back injury.
