Keeping them overnight for observation is a possibility but it's really only done in cases where there are no friends and family who are available to do it themselves.

Usually if you are in a city big enough to host a fight you are never more than 5-10 minutes away from a hospital, so there is really no danger in releasing someone to go home with their family when they can easily be returned to the hospital should something come up.

I can think of at least a half dozen different cases when I played football in HS and college where somebody suffered a concussion and never spent 1 minute in a hospital or doctor's office.

I'm talking about people who were so concussed they were vomiting and telling stories from 10 years ago like they happened yesterday.
For all I know there's a big difference from the US to Europe. Fighters on the recieving end of a brutal KO stays at least over night in hospital over here.

Whatever. The point is that you cannot assume Dirrell faked based on the lenght of his stay in hospital.

Are they trying to tie this to the AA fight now? Looks like they are digging a pretty deep hole here.
Just like Shaw to figure the way out of this is to blame Abraham for it. That's definitely the implication he is making without saying it straight out.

Thats because Dirrell was so hurt by AA that he had no problems walking around after he was supposedly in a seizure.

they are symptoms of something worse than concussion. they are symptoms of a more severe brain injury.
how do i know this? i'll just say my knowledge has smth do with a particular member in my family and i'll leave it at that...
now you don't know what you're talking about.

hospitals release seriously hurt patients all the time. especially in america.....

Abraham was right: "He's a good actor."

You just never know when it comes to concussions, symptoms can be delayed and it can take weeks before the full effects become apparent.

I don't know if you follow baseball but a good example of how serious they can become happened this year with Justin Morneau.

He is the first baseman for the Minnesota Twins and a league MVP. He was kneed in the head going into a base and suffered a concussion more than 4 months ago. He still has not returned to the baseball field and is suffering from migraines, blurred vision and loss of balance.

Contrast that with NFL players who suffer a concussion and return the next week to a sport where they get consistently hit in the head and you get an idea for how much a head injury can vary from case to case.

One would presume Dirrell is going to retire from the sport then?

These guys appear to be close friends and that may not have made for a very good fight anyway. Mora and Mosley are also good friends and every time they hit each other, they looked like they wanted to apologize.
