i agree, so maybe he should have continued. Didn't Toney continue after tearing his bicep in the 2 round and went 8 more rounds winnin geach of them?

I dont think he has as much heart as most of you are giving him credit for. For one, he moves back and keeps people at bay with his reach. Not to mention he never gets hit flush enough to really tell how much heart he has.

People are basing their judgement as to the "Lewis" fight.

        Oh and once again:

1.) Gatti fought from the 4th round on after breaking his hand against Ward.

2.) Raymond Joval fought with a broken jaw and went 12 rounds.

3.) Instead of electing to Win the fight by Disqualification......Hopkins decided to continue fighting with a dislocated shoulder in the echols fight.

        Vitali quit against a middleweight.

u keep citing these injuries but none of these are torn rotator cuffs. TORN, not dislocated shoulder, or broken jaw, or broken hand, TORN rotator cuff. ever had one? if u did, would u like to have another?

besides, can byrd honestly say that he deserved that win?

thats a terrible argument...fighting with a broken jaw or broken hand shows alot of heart. all vitali can say is that he quit on the stool
also, byrd won because vitali quit, bottom line. i dont see vitali clamoring to get a rematch either

vitali didnt quit as soon as he got the torn cuff, he quit after a few rounds after it was torn.

even if he quit, byrd got his ass ****d by wlad in his next match, a match that he was beaten senseless and lost by a mile-long margin.

in vitali's case, he was winning the fight, he knew he couldve beaten byrd, he knew byrd's a joke, his brother gave byrd one of the biggest beatings of byrd's life, and now his fight with lennox lewis (the fight where vitali DIDNT quit) erased his "quitter" stigma.

who the hell wants to fight byrd anyway?

lmfao. Ill take torn rotators in both shoulders, as opposed to fighting with a broken jaw. You imbecile.

That is the ******est arguement I have ever read on an internet forum.

"torn rotator cuff in both shoulders"

                      hmm...

ali broke his jaw in the opening round against ken norton in their first fight. u think hed rather have an injury where he cant even lift either arm instead of just taking the broken jaw and going the distance?

whos the imbecile: the imbecile who fights with one broken jaw or the imbecile who fights with no functioning arms?
