Yeah, Cotto was in great shape for that fight but he just didn't have the ability or mindset to play defense all night. Cotto is a fighter but it's like Roach said, "You can say Pacquiao looks fast but you don't really know just how fast he really is until you get into the ring with him"

I don't think Cotto is washed up, he was just devastated after the Margs loss but I think surviving against Pac did a lot for his confidence and he showed it in the Foreman fight.

I wonder if he still has the huge stamina level to fight his style. I think everyone was surprised at his movement and his angle/combination punches as whole.

You know when mayweather snr said Pac must be on something after the fight, it means he was shocked at how great pac was, he was shook up.
According to Mosley, Mayweather snr was sitting next to him in the Pac-Cotto fight and he said Pac was definitely on something lol, He couldnt believe how Pac walked through Cotto's punches.

I also think Pac is slowing down a bit but it might be due to him moving up in weight.

Cotto actually won rounds 1 and 5, landed some hard shots that ruptured Pacs ear drum, and actually outboxed Pac in some spots, until the late rounds when he just had nothing left.
Also, Cotto went to the body a lot in that fight, so people who have made a point that he stopped body attacking have got it all wrong. Neway, Cotto doesn't need a rematch with this guy, though at JMW and with Steward in the corner it may be a better fight. Just wanted to make the point, he got beat up but he did better than a lot of guys have and it just illustrates my point of Cotto not being a shot fighter, and being a level above most.
Watching this fight made me think, & I don't see how anyone can see Cotto lose to some of these opponents who have been mentioned for him: Cintron, Vanes, JCC Jr., Angulo, etc. Cotto would box circles around those types - though the hard punchers like Angulo and Cintron would be tuffer fights. Still, his most challenging opponents are PWill, S Martinez, Margarito.
True, he looked as sharp as I've ever seen him in that fight, he would have also won rounds 3 and 4 if it weren't for the knockdowns. However, I'm a fan, but not a blind one, I don't think he can beat Cintron or maybe even Angulo, his speed at 154 dropped drastically. I'd like him to fight berto and margarito (possibly not in that order) and call it a day. Of course he may get greedy and want a floyd match and a pac rematch, but those should come at the end of his career in order to avoid taking too much damage while he's still a viable option.
