Let's try one more time.Buddy, I know in IHateMayweatherville, fighting the champion in a division instead of a challenger is called ducking. But, on Planet Earth, Baldomir was champ, Margarito was a challenger, Money fought the champ. And who was everyone Margarito was running through. If my memory serves me correctly, he beat Antonio Diaz for a paper trinket. He beat a "Six Heads" Lewis who had just been decapatated by Mayorga. He beat an untested prospect in Cintron. Explain to me all these great fighters Margarito was running through again.
And its funny how you make excuses for Pac. But the fact is, he's made a career out of fighting guys coming off loses after his draw with JMM. He fought Morales three times coming off of loses. He wanted no part of JMM until JMM lost to Chris John. He fought de la Hoya after he looked like crap against 2 Pound He fought Hatton after Hatton was damn near KO'd by a Juan Lazcano who couldn't punch at lightweight. He fought Cotto after Cotto looked like crap against Clottey. He fought Clottey coming off the lost to Cotto. He's fighting Margarito who just lost every second of every round in his last fight again an old, shot (according to you) Mosley. So please, come better.
The fact is, the only person being slapped around this thread is you. I'm spitting facts, and all you'ere doing is coming back with some fanboy rant telling me what other people are saying. What about punching a hole in some of these facts I'm putting on the table. Because all you've done is rant about Mayweather and make excuses for Pacquaio. That's not winning a debate. All that's doing is being a fanboy hoping to get AMEns from other fanboys.
First of all you discounting Margarito's wins make me laugh. He was a champion, had stopped Martinez, Cintron and Lewis, and was widely recognized as the number 1 WW. ESPECIALLY after Judah lost to Baldomir.
Morales - 2nd best at the weight, Pacquiao already had a stoppage win over the best at the time (MAB). He and Barrerra have more clout than anybody Floyd ever fought in the lower weight classes. The fact Pacquiao stopped both speaks volumes. Was MAB coming off a loss? Didnt think so.
Hatton - Undefeated at 140, had only lost to Mayweather, only ever had one big win (Kostya) which made him lineal champ. Floyd chose him over any WW so for you to bring him up makes me laugh.
Cotto/Clottey - Let's see. You are trying to discredit both for the same fight. Did you ever think that when two top 5 WW's fight it is a close decision and they are equally matched? BOTH beat down Judah (Floyd's biggest WW win other than Shane) and both were much tougher tests than Hatton, Baldomir or DLH at any weight. Cotto beat Shane, Clottey likely would as well. Especially an inactive Shane coming off a 17 month layoff.
Margarito - Got destroyed by Mosley. But let's not pretend the fact he got caught cheating before walking out destroyed his psyche. Manny Steward said the exact same thing. Pacquiao should be fighting Williams. But it's still a very tough fight, tougher than 99% of Floyd's career and someone Floyd ducked for 8M.
Finally, the fact all boxers and trainers are virtually unanimous in sharing my opinions shows who is presenting facts (me) and who is the fanboy (you). Floyd has fought Marquez and Mosley in the last three years. That's a joke. You're a damn fool.Last edited by FaustoGeraci; 09-25-2010, 02:37 PM.Comment

Buddy, you're either illiterate, ******ed, or both. Pac fought Morales in the middle of a 1-5 streak. Pac's two wins over him are sandwiched between Morales being completely outclassed by Zahir Raheem and losing convincingly to David Diaz. Those are C Class fighters. If he was losing to C Class fighters, an elite fighter should beat the hell outta him. There's no way you can justify Pac's wins over him as meaningful.Let's try one more time.

As for Hatton, did you not see the Juan Lazcano fight? Lazcano was a blown up lightweight that couldn't punch in that division and he had Hatton on ***** street on several occassions. Any knowledgeable fight fan could see that Hatton was semi-shot going into his fight with Pac.
Clottey has never beaten anyone that's any good. His best wins are over an over-the-hill Judah and a completely shot "Chico" Corrales, who BTW was every bit or more dangerous than barerra or Morales when Money made him look like a novice. But anyways, Clottey has never beaten a top notch fighter. Hell, he lost to Baldomir. So how is he a great victory for a legend like Pac?
As for Margarito, you're back to making your excuses. Nobody made him put cement in his gloves. And I don't care if his mind was screwed up or not, he was totally destroyed by Mosley, who Pac didn't want to fight and who Mayweather embarrassed. There's no way that you can even attempt to justify saying that Margarito is a more dangerous opponent than Mosley. As for Mayweather ducking him, he made $8M for the Baldomir fight. And as I keep saying, Baldomir was the REAL welterweight champ. Margarito was merely a challenger, just like Mayweather. BTW, I'm still waiting on that list of top fighters Margarito was running through at the time.
And again, I don't care what writers, trainers, fans, or anyone else has to say about the subject. I've been following boxing for a long time, so I don't need any input of forulate my own opinion. What I'm asking you to do is lay facts on the table that dispute what I'm saying and you can't. The truth is, over the years I've probably been a bigger Pacquaio fan than Mayweather fan. I just think its ridiculous how people like you try and discredit everything Mayweather does. The fact is, his resume is just as good or better than Pac's. If you don't think so, for every "signature" Pacquaio win, I can match you with a Mayweather with that is equal to or better. Mayweather is an assh*le and Pac is very likeable, so of course more people are gonna be in Pac's corner. But when facts are put on the table, all you can do is glorify Pac's opponents and downplay Mayweather's. But the truth is, the same can be done in reverse, and I'm proving that you you line by line.Comment

You've gotta love this ******* logic. This cat is sitting here blasting Mayweather for fighting JMM and Mosley when those are the two fighters who Pac has openly ducked in the last couple years. Hell, I'm a hardcore fan. I wanted Pacquaio-Marquez III just as much in 2008 as I want Mayweather-Pacquaio now. Pac didn't want it. Matter of fact, the only time JMM's name has been mentioned by Team Pacquaio is after the Mayweather-Marquez fight. All of a sudden, they wanted to fight JMM at a 145 catchweight. Of course, Pac was holding the 140 title at the time and JMM was the lightweight. What kinda sense did it make for the 140 champ and lightweight champ to fight at 145? And everyone who's been following this thing knows the Pacquaio-Mosley history. A lot of what he's saying about Mosley being past it I agree with, but that's not the point I'm making. Whether Mosley was washed up or not, he was the top guy at welter after destroying Margarito. Pac's team wanted no part of him, and Mayweather embarrassed him. So can a logical person criticize Mayweather for fighting him and not criticize Pac for ducking him?Comment
