Margarito may well be over his peak which I think was reached in the Cotto fight. However, how do you know his chin has been cracked? How do you know really he is past prime?

He is not even that old! He's only 32. He is younger than Mayweather!

Sure, he didn't look great against Garcia but it wasn't a big fight and he'd been away for a year or so. Here he will be at a good weight for him and will have been training like an animal.

Margarito, Cotto at 145-151 >> Khan, Bradley at 140.

Can you imagine Pac-Khan? It would be a joke. Pac would land one left hand or right hook in the first round within 1 minute and Khan would be KTFO on the ground. Margarito will be coming all night like an animal and brutalising Pac with uppercuts and right hands.
Floyd and Khan are more talented than Manny.

I know he's past his prime because I can see by watching his last few fights. Even Roach agrees with me when he made his statement in the HBO Faceoff.... "I have seen your last two fights."

A fight with Bradley and Khan at 140 is a tougher fight for Manny because he's going to be fighting two young fighters close to their primes. Margacheato ain't **** without his plaster, he's slow, one dimensional, his style is made for Manny, etc. Manny is too fast for Margacheato and Manny's speed will neutralize Margacheato's power and size. Manny hits harder than Margacheato without his plaster.

come on wtf is this dude posting a 140 beating pac??? this dude is dillusional the top 5 fighters are khan, bradley, maidana, alexander and ortiz or kotelnik and you seriously think ay one of these guys has a serious shot???? wooooow thats so ****** man first khan is a great boxer but manny pacquiao's constant pressure would break him down, bradley's aggresiveness would work to his dis advantage and get him ko, maidana punches himself out and is to wide, alexander hasnt proven anything so why get a shot?? and ortiz is a great boxer imo and due to his lack of heart i see him getting beat and kotelnik just doesnt cut it but thats my opinion

If Pacquiao were to go down to 140, he would clean the division.

ignoring all the trollers and **** riders in this thread, this article is rite. this is my greatest knock on manny. hes a great fighter but the fact is roach and arum are even greater match makers and they have done a good deal of cherry picking. that much cant be disputed.

and for the record all the ppl posting about the guys at 140, i think most of those fighters at 140 have a better chance of beating pac rite now than margarito.

and the simple fact is that he cant avoid them for much longer...there isnt anyone else to fight. we know he wont fight the real big dogs at jmw and he wont fight pwill at 147. all thats left are those said fighters and berto. so stop the bull**** about manny owning them all, sure he might. but does that mean he gets a pass for not fighting them??

I don't think any of those guys would have beaten the Cotto that Pac fought. If you can give Pac the same kind of moneys that he's getting now I'm sure Pac can just say bring them on. No promoter is going to pay Pac the same kind of money he's getting now for fighting any of the Jr. welter.

                Haters gonna hate.

If he clears 140 now, then people will say he ducked the big boys.

There comes a point where size does make the difference.

June 2008, Manny Pacquaio moved up in weight to fight David Diaz for his WBC Lightweight Championship.

Diaz was knocked out in the ninth round.

That would be the only time he fought in the weight class. The very next year, Pacquaio fought at Junior Welterweight for the first time in his career, and again he knocked Ricky Hatton out in the second round to win his first title and only title in that division.

Later that year, he fought Miguel Cotto at the Welterweight division at a catch weight of 145 pounds. He won that fight with a 12th-round stoppage, awarding him his first title in the Welterweight Division.

Since then, Manny Pacquaio hasn’t defended either belt at lightweight or Junior Welterweight. Floyd Mayweather would have been his first title defense at either weight class in almost two years if the negotiation were successful.

In the last two years, Manny Pacquaio has received three belts in three different weight classes. If he is successful November 13, that will be his fourth in two years.

Sounds real accomplished, but what’s also su****ious is none of the belts were ever defended.

I’m starting to think that Manny is not interested in fighting any top contenders in any of these weight classes. If he is able to put away Antonio Margarito for the vacated Super Welterweight WBC title, you can bet he won’t be defending that title either.

Floyd Mayweather versus Manny Pacquaio is the dream fight, but right now seems really unlikely, since Floyd is having personal battles of his own.

Although we don’t have Floyd Mayweather, we still have the other person in that equation, and he’ll fight anyone. At least that’s what Top Rank is selling, but I’ve been observing closely, and I’ve realized its one place he won’t go.

The Junior Welterweight is full of great talent: Timothy Bradley, Devon Alexander, Amir Khan, and Juan Marquez. The problem with this division is only the informed boxing fan will recognize these names and the talent they possess.

Right now, this division is not a money bag, but if you insert one name “Manny Pacquaio,” this division will reign supreme.

All of these fighters present a great threat to Pac-Man’s career because they all can fight. They are young, smart, and no one is one-dimensional.

These guys are not the walk-in, straight-line fighters Freddie Roach typically pairs his fighter against. In 2009, after beating Ricky Hatton, Pacquaio didn’t stick around to allow them to expose him either.

By far, destroying Miguel Cotto was his greatest accomplishment, but what is getting overwhelmingly obvious is Manny Pacquaio, for the last few years has been fighting losers instead of winners. De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, and now Margarito make up his last five fights, and all suffered career-changing losses right before he chose to fight them.

Boxing has always been a sport where your last fight determines your future. If you win, your chances to fight the best increases; if you lose, you go to the end of the line.

Somehow, Top Rank and Manny Pacquaio have rerouted the map to the top. In recent history, only if you lose in a big fight can you qualify to fight Manny Pacquaio.

He states that we should look at their last fight to guage their accomplishments ..... that is not always the case , still, I guess this guy hasn't seen Timothy Bradley, Devon Alexander, and Juan Marquez latest fights? Also, Amir Khan would probably have to show that he can take a good punch and move up and beat the next level of opponents before someone would legitimize Manny beating him.

Plus, he said it that these guys would not augment the purse if Manny fights them. The purse would only be due to Manny's recognition. Not a good reason to fight them then.

Manny is now fighting so he can get rewarded one way or another. Fighting those guys would not reward him as much as getting another belt or beating Floyd.

Finally, Manny has been trying to get a fight going with Floyd for a long time now and he even admits its not happening because of Floyd's personal problems. So all his statements are shot with that alone. Everyone would say that fighting Floyd is a better accomplishment than those mentioned by this guy.

If Manny fought those guys and beat them, people would say, why did Manny take on fighters that are not ready to fight him.
