Murray is a decent fighter but will probably be tested and destroyed by Ortiz.

Murray should step up slowly, although maybe they want more Brits to fly over to Las Vegas.

I want Ortiz to step to bigger fights then this now. Murray has nothing to offer. He's not big enough to compete, and will not last against Ortiz with his style, and will run into a barrage of power-shots. It will not go 7 rounds.

Ortiz belongs with the Khan/Alexander/Bradley/Maidana brigade, as he has a great shot at beating all of them. One wrongly fought fight against Maidana, and he's suddenly taking big steps back.

Looks to me that it will get British interest, although Murray isn't very well known outside of calling Khans' name out after every fight. I like John, but i'd rather see him challenge for a title at Lightweight when he is ready.

Judging from Ortiz recent performance, it would be difficult for Murray to get pass him. Ortiz is getting better and better.

As everyone knows this is just to build the british exposure for ortiz and make a few more british people watch the card.

Ortiz would destroy john in round 4-5. Ortiz knows this would be a build up fight to maybe keep him active for a more interesting fight against say a kotelnik in march or april.

Murray is a big lightweight - he has the size to compete at 140, just not the quality.

I'd doubt it would go 4 full rounds.

Perhaps they are building a British audience for a potential Khan/Ortiz fight next year, should Khan succeed against Maidana? You never know.

Ortiz featured on the Malignaggi/Khan undercard which was shown on ITV with repeats the following day to a wide audience, so he will be a familiar face.

Murray may be a big Lightweight, but Ortiz is a huge Light Welter.....it'd be feeding Murray to a wolf.

If this comes off it will be too much of a step up too soon for Murray, he is untested and will lose prob by ko.

Not only that moving up in weight as well, silly fight for him

I originally thorght of that. But khan is a big name for gbp. As is ortiz. i cant imagine odlh putting them in the ring until they house hold names with p4p status. It would be a huge fight down the line for gbp and both men.

Abilities pay the utilities, and that's where the gulf lies. Murray's big enough to be a 140 guy, but he doesn't have the skill - even against the relatively small-time opposition he faces at 135, it's his size and strength that tells, whereas the playing field evens out at 140 in that regard.

this is called a business move.

Vic will fight for a title at beginning of 2011.

inside note: i wanna see him and kotelnik!
