Are the CW fights really that big of a deal to you? Be honest. Cotto weighed-in at 146 for the Clottey fight, won. He weighed-in at 145 against Pac, was demolished. Did that 1 lb really change the course of history?

And with Margarito... it favors Antonio. Guy is as natural a welter as there is, but now he has 4 less lbs he has to weight drain/shed and Garcia says they plan to rehydrate to about 164 on fight night... but Margs will be 'drained' right?

No one will care about it, not even the 'informed'. The only thing people will remember about these two fights is that the little Filipino climbed up in weight to fight much bigger power punches/KO artists and destroyed them, garnering more hardware along the way. All the complaining is just nitpicking by people who've run out of ammo for criticisms.

To historians it is all about the details, and with the way information is available currently it is doubtful that much gets lost, and if the information is lost no one will care about who Manny was in the first place.

If you truly care about the history of the sport you care about the details, people who don't really need not be listened to.

You can see that on this board even when more informed people teach lessons to people who don't know what they are talkign about, that won't change in the future jsut as time goes on people who know about older ages tend to die out, but that information is not usualy completely lost.

When you look back at those fights and see how exciting and they are.. Pac will be remembered as a game crowd pleaser who stayed fighting top flight comp.

A lot of young people from the Philippines keep telling me this. No chance that the political stuff has a positive impact?
