This is not true at all.

Martinez was approached by Williams team in the past as the Number 1 backup option. Martinez didnt know Pavlik would pull out again but he knew if he did he would be the guy to fight Williams.

Even if that were true. It's a huge difference in training being a replacement option for a fighter that has never pulled out of a fight to knowing that you are actually going to fight. Huge difference.

Williams had more time in training camp. The difference in styles doesn't nullify the fact that he had already been training with the effort that he usually does for a fight.

The way you're talking, Peterson better have some special game planning **** that he could only implement into P-Will's 1 dimensional ass with an entire 8 week training camp.

You also have to consider Martinez's confidence level. He just beat the Middleweight champ of the world and lost a close, close, disputed fight against Williams whom many had him winning. Williams to me wasn't looking too great against Cintron as long as that fight lasted and still leaves himself wide open during exchanges and doesn't use his height or reach. With some adjustments, I can see Sergio beating Williams convincingly to a decision win. Williams would be a lot more effective if he were to use his physical attributes to his advantage.

True, but you also have to use some common sense, why would a guy that 5-6 or 5-8, want to fight a guy who's 6-2. That doesn't make any sense for those guys to take that fight, he needs to be worried about the Middleweight division now, that division is loaded with guys who can beat him at any time.

I think martinez wins by a clear decision. Martinez clearly hurt williams in the first fight. Martinez threw the more telling blows, williams was throwing hoping he'd hit something at times.

Another thing that makes me think this is, williams didn't look very good in his last outing. Maybe it was the fight, maybe it was a sign of things to come. Of course anything can happen in boxing, so this is just how i see it.

Either way hopefully we get another good fight out of these two.

I keep trying to tell fellow boxing fans that Sergio does not have the endurance to keep up with Paul's pace. From a skills perspective the two are even, but conditioning is what won Paul the first fight.

Unless Sergio has drastically improved his stamina I see him losing again. Paul has also proven that he fights better in rematches.
