Martinez does not have the stamina to beat Paul Williams.

Did you see what I mentioned in the Pavlik fight or am I off base? His stamina almost let Pavlik back in the fight. If it wasnt for that cut think its a different fight.
But he finished strong, winning the last 4-5 rounds big. Round 9 was a masterpiece.

He basically said he purposely took his foot off the pedal in the middle rounds to have a very strong finish. After the 9th, he proceeded to average over 90+ punches thrown and 20-30+ landed in the last 4 rounds.

He only had 6 weeks to train for Williams anyway, while Paul knew he was going to fight on that date and had been in training camp before that only having to switch up his gameplan.
You made my point. He has bad stamina.

"only having to switch his gameplan"

Thats not an "only" that was CRUCIAL. Going from a slow, methodical, right hander to a fast, crafty, pure boxing left hander is kind of a big deal.

It seemed that way definitely, like Que said, I thought I remembered him saying he felt he had a lead, took the middle rounds off and tried to finish strong.

But Williams is even more active than Pavlik, so taking rounds off his tough to do because if there's one thing Paul does it's fight for 36 minutes straight.

Willimas was training for Pavlik a immobile slugger who he would have to be carefull about and be the mover in. martinez posseses the exact opposite style of pavlik, so the training time period excuse is moot.

It's not moot when Martinez's main issue was stamina cause he didn't have that long to train.

I'd rather have to switch gameplans last minute than only get half of the amount of necessary time to train.

Out his own mouth he said he was trying to preserve energy.

He has bad stamina its clear to see how that is a problem vs a guy like Williams. I take it you didnt see the Pavlik fight.
Boxers who lack stamina, don't last twelve rounds with PWill, Pavlik, and Cintron back to back.

If my memory serves me right, he got the "real" knock down versus PWill. PWill is good, but that most feared boxer in boxing has been wearing off really fast.

Please don't act as if PWill wasn't tired, the guy usually throws solid punches, he was slapping Martinez in the middle to late rounds.

martinez has a history of getting tired, he was also tired against cintron, and was finished against Williams late in the scrap.

                  I AGREE!!!

the Stamina or the Power, Williams is going to beat his A$$ down, I am already sick of this Martinez Bandwagon especially when nobody gave a *** about him before the first fight with Williams

Martinez is going to Carlos Quintana his A$$ and these b!tches will use the "Catchweight" as the excuse as to why Martinez lost

Martinez can't fight any better then he did the first fight and that wasn't enough, although people can argue that he probably did win the first fight but he didn't DOMINATE like some people try to act like he did, Williams was coming on late in that fight and had momentum late in that fight when Martinez was clearly tired and Williams looked like he could have went another 3 round if they had to

but we shall see, I think Williams impresses the 2nd time around and makes a statement

All the more reason that extra time that he didn't have to train really effected him.

Pretty sure it was only 4 weeks. That is what happens when 1 fighter only has half a camp.
