You guys are missing the point. According to the article Angulo was deported once and had snuck back in illegally again. That's twice that he has broken the law. Nobody's going to give him any kind of visa now, even a temporary one just for one fight in the US. Some of you may not equate illegal immigration to murder (a poster said its not like he killed somebody), but it is a crime none the less.

The guy is obviously an idiot. If he was such a bright athletic talent (Mexican Olympian, etc), it wouldn't have been too hard to come to the US legally. Instead he chose to break the law numerous times and has to face the consequences.

I wouldn't jump the gun on this one though just yet. Its only one report of this so far and more accurate details are bound to surface.

when u get deported you cant just marry a us citizen anymore , if he didnt get deported then yes he could and get his papers.but when u get deported they either make u pay lots of money or go back for a certain amount of time , I know its a bad climate with all the racists and crap around now, however ive seen people fix their status even then , with his celebrity and status it shouldnt be an issue, with a good attorney the only way it is if a polititian makes it an issue and is targeting him specifically , which is very likley the case some loser judge or pol wanting to make a name for himself.

Something doesn't sound right. All of a sudden, HBO is playing moral police now?

I don't remember it stopping them from showing, on PPV no less, a convicted woman batterer, or absentee father or steroid cheat.

Good call. I didn't think about that.

You are probably right that he has no shot to get a temporary visa to fight in the US now.

HBO is ****** if they give up on Perro after investing all that time and money.

Why can't he go back to Mexico and fight there while he tries to come back to the US legally?

I agree he shouldve done things right but people nowadays go overboard and extreme with that , we live in a nation with the most people locked up in prison most for serious crimes , breaking the law from getting a ticket, to hurting someone , to take ur pick is breaking the law, and most of those are citizen not immigrants, but something as trivial and really minor as not having proper documentaion because the induvidulual wants a better life for himself doesnt really merit the outcry hate and extreme measures this issue receives, really its a bunch of people frustrated and letting their wrath out on cleaning ladies over their own failures, its a cheap cause and a cheap vent. I agree deport losers that only come here to fck up but for chrissakes dont deport productive stars like Angulo, the law is too extreme too hypocritical , and should be executed on a merit and case to case basis , not just on "breaking the law" . george bush "broke the law" hes enjoying pina coladas and your tax dollars for doing irreversible and untold harm to this nation. so are countless others .immigration needs to be overhauled , its not as simple as just throw out the illegal "law breakers" weve all broken the law at one point or another.its a wedge issue used for alterior motives and wont solve crap.

For every 'illegal immagrant' that is kicked out, hundreds come in. From Cuba, Brazil, Rumania, Ukraine, Russia, Korea, Phillipines, etc... Just like it happened in Rome and just like it will happen in the next super power. I will also guarantee that Angulo's career will be just fine. Boxing is begining to be very popular in Mexico again, thanks to likes of Saul Alvarez and Julio Chavez.
