The pre-Roach Khan and the current version are two completely different fighters and you know it. It's ****** to base any judgement of him now on that fight.

He has much more than a puncher's chance.

Khan should be the favourite to win, but certainly not the odds-on favourite. It's a very dangerous fight for him, and will tell us whether or not he has what it takes to become an elite fighter, rather than just a paper champion.
          Thats where I'm coming from.

Theres all the chance that those punches connect and Khan just lets hus guard drop. That happenned with the Malignaggi fight like was said earlier.

          But remember the Salita fight?

I'm not comparing the fighters but the pre-fight hype. All the people I knew. Boxing fans gave Salita a good puncher's chance. Salita was the mandatory so people thought he must be quality automatically.

He got knocked down three times in the first round.

That fight was around the same time of year and people were expecting Khan to trip up and at least for the fight to last. Khan proved them wrong.

Maybe he will do it again now.

December is still a ways away. A lot of things can go wrong by then so I won't get my hopes up too much.

I picked Khan against Kotelnik, Salita, and Malignaggi, but unless this happens which I highly doubt

I have to go with Maidana in this one. If you weigh both of their losses and manner of losing and weigh their strengths and weaknesses for me it favors Maidana.

People usually use "punchers chance" as a negative connotation to imply the opponent has very little chance in the fight, but in this case Maidana's "punchers chance" makes the fight.

I'm already starting to see the word "lucky punch" thrown around by some of the die-hard Khan supporters and how he got "lucky" with Ortiz, but with a 90% KO record you'd think he'd change his name to Irish Marcos Maidana with all that "luck."

Of course I've already said before that I'll give Khan all the credit in the world if he wins because it'll show he can hang with a variety of styles and not just stick to his comfort zone.

Goody Petronelli, the only trainer Marvelous Marvin Hagler ever knew, always used to say, “You can’t train a chin.’’ That is what Freddie Roach has to be concerned about.

Roach told an old friend a while back that “Goody was right,’’ when asked about Petronelli’s philosophy. No amount of weight work to strengthen neck muscles, for example, will alter how quick a fighter’s brain goes blank when hit on the chin. That ability to absorb shock is a gift from a Higher Power not something you can improve, like a jab or a hook.

Angelo Dundee, who guided the great Muhammad Ali, sees no great mystery. “You can't train a chin,” he said, simply.

                Happy debating guys.

Show me where I compared Maidana to Salita. I said I picked Khan over his past 3 opponents, but I'm picking Maidana over Khan this time
