Comparing him to Mike? I'm just gonna skip by that cos we both know you're not really comparing him to Mike.
I was basically talking about styles, I was not comparing anybody to anybody!
So..your saying to me that because maidana does not have quick hands he is not dangerous??? because if you are, then obviously you have never sparred or fought somebody who was slower than you, especially in close? If khan makes a mistake, he's going for a siesta! It will be an exciting fight, and I give amir alot of credit, he is making up for not fighting the best domestically by fighting the best, at and around world level...i can see this being a very exciting fight!

I dont think Khan ever was ducking Maidana, he said all along he wanted to fight him then fight the winner of Bradley-Alexander, and it may well have been his comments after the Malignaggi fight that got the ball rolling with these 2 fights. Even with all the money and location talk surrounding the fight, i always felt Khan - Maidana would take place.
I think the re-match clause in the Alexander - Bradley fight may throw a slight spanner in the works. But to be honest if it ment that Khan could possibly beat Maidana, then fight Ortiz before meeting the winner of a possible Bradley - Alaxander rematch, then id be happy with that as thats a good few fights there.
Id go with Khan UD, but possibly a late stoppage.Last edited by Chrismart; 09-15-2010, 08:58 PM.

I picked Khan against Kotelnik, Salita, and Malignaggi, but unless this happens which I highly doubt

I have to go with Maidana in this one. If you weigh both of their losses and manner of losing and weigh their strengths and weaknesses for me it favors Maidana.
People usually use "punchers chance" as a negative connotation to imply the opponent has very little chance in the fight, but in this case Maidana's "punchers chance" makes the fight.
I'm already starting to see the word "lucky punch" thrown around by some of the die-hard Khan supporters and how he got "lucky" with Ortiz, but with a 90% KO record you'd think he'd change his name to Irish Marcos Maidana with all that "luck."
Of course I've already said before that I'll give Khan all the credit in the world if he wins because it'll show he can hang with a variety of styles and not just stick to his comfort zone.
Please make a poster "Khan vs Maidana" of this fight
