According to you, its ok for Paul to win a title at a catchweight but not Pac. Thats the issue. Stop dancing and diving around it. You're a hypocrite and have been exposed.Comment

It was no secret that he was trying to get down to 147 Pounds for a WW fight. Maybe something fell apart that we dont know about. Maybe even with Floyd perhaps.
If this fight is at 157 it gives the illusion to other fighters "that hey see look" Im not a 160 pounder." He wants to still be able to get the money fights he desperately wants.
I guarantee after he wins the Lineal Title if a big money fight comes up he'll drop whatever belts necessary to get it.
I know Paul wanted those fights, and made it no secret he would return to 147 to try and get those fights, but that move in of itself was ****** and a b*tch move considering he had Martinez and Dzinziruk to fight, or a rematch with Cintron to shut people up about that.
I don't have a major problem with the catchweight because it won't effect Martinez in the ring, but if Paul doesn't want to make 160 that's his decision/fault. He's already fought and beaten Sergio at 160, no excuse for asking for a catchweight now.Comment

At the end of the day....
The champion should be allowed to weigh in at the max limit.
I'm a huge Williams fan, I'll be rooting for him.. I think he will win.
But, it's important to stay consistent in your opinions, and I feel, as I always have felt.. the champion of any weight class.. should always be allowed to weigh in at the limit.
If the opponent feels he is better off weighing less than the limit, that is perfectly within the rights of that said fighter, and his own prerogative to follow.Comment

williams asking a catchweight mw fight against martinez is far worse than pac fighting marg at 151. williams already fought twice at middle so why is he asking for a catchweight? that's like pac asking another catchweight fight at welter eventhough he already fought their twice.Comment

Only difference is Pac is moving up to weights he has never fought at before, while Williams has fought at 160 before. We could argue the details but the fact is still the same: this would be a title fight at a catchweight just as the Pac/Margs fight. I don't really like the idea of either one being for a title because the weight classes and their definitions are being tossed in the trash when every title fight is at some other mandatory weight limit...senseless to me. Maybe Pac is trying to cheat history...I think he should fight for the 154 title at 154Comment

End of the day, titles should not be contested at catchweights. Full stop. I dont care if its your 7th, 8th or 100th title. They should be contested at the weight limit. I just wish certain fans would have the balls to criticise their mancrushes and not just the fighters they dislike.
The bigger issue with Williams is that this is for the lineal championship, not just a paper title.
Also, hes already fought Martinez himself at 160 where he requested the weight of 160. And he supposedly "beat" him at that weight. So why ask for a catchweight?
I wont recognise him as Middleweight Champ if he somehow manages to win the fight.Comment
