as for the topic at hand, paul williams gets full credit for the victory even with the catchweight as i have explained in several posts as to why criticism of the catchweight is hollow & fraudulent, but in return gets marginalized for speaking the truth:

ive already explained this. catchweights are used now as a frauduelnt false sense of mental security. the fighters THINK they are getting an edge but they are not.

it's obvious what Pwill and his team wants and is tryin gto do.

the catchweight isn't about getting an advantage because martinez isn't really a middleweight either.

first of all, it's all about Pwill trying to get fights with the big names like cotto, wifebeater jr, the congress man from minadao, mosley, etc. By asking for a catchweight, Pwill and his team wnat to give the impression that Pwill isn't really a middlweight. which leads me to my second point...

secondly, pwill is trying to get HBO to stop trying to get him to move up to 160 and 168 to fight the there. pwill got rocked by martinez, who isn't even that hard puncher since he's an armpuncher, so his team is worried about his chin. Pwill has one of the ****tiest defenses in boxing and his team is scared that he will get KTFO if he actually fights a good 160 or 168 lber.

In conclusion, team Pwill asking for a catchweight of 157, a useless and trival gesture, because Pwill likes beating up on smaller fighters. Pwill can't hang at 160+. His chin isn't good enough. His defense is crap. And his skills aren't p4p top 10 type skills. All Pwill has is his non-stop arm punches which is a style that will only work against smaller guys.
