I just want these two to sign the fight and get it on. If they can't agree on a purse split the WBA should enforce winner-takes-all!

b) In any case, this fight is far bigger than any other fight Khan could be involved in because of the fact that people want to see his chin tested by a big puncher, which Maidana is; and because of the fact that most people (including HBO) think Khan has been ducking Maidana all year. That back story is what Maidana brings to the table, because it means the fight will be far bigger than any other fight Khan could be involved in right now.
c) If Khan had agreed to fight Maidana at the beginning of the year, when he should have fought him. the purse split would have been 75/25. So Khan has only himself to blame for his percentage going down. That increased purse split is Maidana's step aside money, in effect.Last edited by Dave Rado; 09-14-2010, 07:57 PM.Comment

You cant judge a persons popularity using google. Amir Khan is a nobody who has fought soft opposition and is in no position to make diva demands like he is a bonafide pro.
But I guess you fanboys can do no wrong, Maybe it should be 99/1? Maidana is the next in line and the belts contract says he must get 45% of the purse, whats so unfair about that. Khan aint floyd or pacq.Comment

They don't have any choice on the purse split. The WBA's rules say that if it goes to purse bids, the purse split when a champion fights an interim champion must be 55/45. End of story. Khan's only options are to accept 55% or vacate.Comment

You can repeat it 100 times over and you're not gonna get through to the Khan fans.Comment

Im glad this went to a purse bid, should have been 55/45 to begin with. Why would Khan ask for so much more? He deserves more, and 10% is just right.Comment

Glad this seems like it might happen and good for Maidana being compensated in the long run by making more than if Khan hadn't ducked him for so long which he blatantly did.Comment

I think Maidana would have settle for 60/40 but Khan was lowballing him like 70/30.
As Dave Rado has stated, Amir has cost himself quite a bit of money with his not so shrewd negotiating tactics.Comment

Khan: Get your hands out of Maidana's Pockets!
Why does Khan suddenly think he can dictate terms to anyone? He thinks he's a star, and has never beaten anyone to become one. Tim Bradley is the man at 140. He earned that recognition in the ring against Junior Witter, Kendall Holt and Anthony Peterson. Devon Alexander is his number one contender, beating Witter, Juan Urango and Andreas Kotelnik. Amir has two names on his resume, and neither ever were that great. He should learn from Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton and even David Haye: talk **** AFTER you prove you're the best in a division. Right now, he's as fraudulent as Fraudley "A Farce" Harrison.Comment
