He hardly punches on the same level as Tszyu.

Cotto's never KO'd anyone with a great chin, infact Cotto's never fought anyone with a great chin except for Ndou and everyone knows he struggled against him. I suppose Corley has a good chin but that fight shouldnt have been stopped and Corley looked about 2 weight classes below Cotto

He obviously has power but until he's fought a few fighter with great chins we wont know how hard he punches.

Hattons tested his power against good/great chins like Phillips, Tszyu, Olivera, Magee, Stewart, Tackie, Krivolapov, etc. We know he punches very hard but its not one punch KO power.

Hatton isn't a nobody, he proved it by beating the best in the division and in my opinion the fighter who is still currently the best (tszyu's my main man). he fought the right fight against an il-prepared kostya (style wise) and came off on top. I doubt if he would win the rematch though, i think kostya could definitely pull off a victory.

But hatton-mayweather? hatton roughs mayweather up for 10 rounds or so. Mayweather is slick and fairly powerful but he isn't invincible. No ONE has ever fought mayweather right. Not the way he should be fought to beat him. He is beatable!!

People who says Cotto is stronger than Hatton just dont realise how wrong they are, If you can out muscle a strength freak like Tszyu then your ****ing strong. Even when i was lifting i'd struggle with 140kg bench(Tszyu lifts that), that a heavy ass weight for a 10st fighter.
140?? i thought he lifted 120kg. which is still excellent for someone who's what? 5'7? where'd you hear about that? that's impressive man. Lote Tuquiri benches 160kg and he's like 6'3 or 6'4 and weighs like 110-115 kg

I'd just feel more comfortable with Hatton facing Mayweather than I would Hatton facing Cotto.

Maybe I'm a little high on Cotto... But I swear I can see something in him that could make him a great champion one day.

He's still on the learning curve and I think he can hit just as hard as Kostya Tszyu.

I had an interesting conversation with NAB on here a few weeks before the Tszyu vs Hatton fight. NAB is an Aussie and a Tszyu fan, and he was telling me that he thought Tsyzu's power was over-rated. He wasn't saying that he thought Tszyu was a light puncher or anything, he was just explaining that out of Tszyu's 28 or so KO's, only 3 or 4 were ACTUAL KO's, and the rest were all TKO's.

NAB said, - "So what, Tszyu KO'd Judah with one punch... Well even the feather fisted Corey Spinks was able to put Judah on his arse a couple of times".

Perhaps Kostya Tszyu's devastating KO win over Zab Judah was more of a testament to Zab Judah's chin rather than Kostya Tszyu's power.

NOBODY in 140 can hit as hard as tszyu. but i think hatton's CURRENTLY a 1-hit wonder, but i also think he'll change that in his next big fight, against who im not sure.

There's different types of power IMO.

Hatton's really heavy handed, i'd imagine his opponents cant move for days afterwards, his shots dont cause instant KO's but over the full distance opponents take a real beating. IMO Hatton opponents are at a higher risk of health problems.

Tszyu's really powerful, he looks like he has the power to put a bull on its ass. Its not spark out KO punching but he's known as a big puncher for a really good reason. All his opponents say how powerful he hits. The type of power that shakes your brain.

Cotto was spark out KO punching but the more strength he puts on the more heavy handed he becomes(a lot Hatton), he's getting heavy handed but losing the ability to KO opponents instantly now he's losing speed.

Cotto has a real defensive problem against inside fighters, you put him in with Castillo or Hatton then he'll get a beating. Obviously he has enough ability to win those fights but he'll have a very hard job doing it, i personally dont think he'd win either unless he caught them. His hands up defence looks open to the uppercuts and hooks to body and head. He has decent footwork but it no way near as elusive as Mayweather, i think Hatton closes the distance so quickly Cotto would struggle to keep him off.

tszyu's like marciano: he hurts you and KOs u with one punch.

cotto's like louis: what tszyu does with one punch, cotto does with 2-4 punches.

hatton's like dempsey: he swarms you with cotto-like punches and punches u up to the point where u dont even want to fight back and cant do anything but wait for the ref to stop it.

                    ... i like this analogy...

Most Hatton opponents talk the talk before the fight, come out for the 1st round looking to win and then come out for the 2nd looking to survive.

It was good to see him fighting Tszyu because at least it was a real fight rather than a one sided beating, before that fight the last time Hatton lost a round was against Magee and even then i wasnt worried about him losing the fight.
