the ONLY reason that this is cool with me is because my dude Abe and Froch are coming off loses.....thats the ONLY reason.....I hate it when fighters lose and then is given a title shot in his VERY next fight....I hate that!!....thats one of the things I liked about the old days....for real for real....there's way too many belts

I agree,in my opinion DIRRELL won the belt in his fight vs FROCH.....FROCH lost vs KESSLER the belt,so why give him the change to be champ again so soon?
AA'll beat THE COBRA and he'll go vs WARD/DIRREL winner to take all belts!!I think WARD right now is the best but the style of DIRRELL can make an upset;and in the rematch AA'll let his hands go,not like in their first fight...i bet on THE KING!!!

This is a ****** move by the WBC, it would have been even more marketable having froch v abe winner being the wbc champ against the wba champ in the final. Ward isn't even ranked, Froch is the ex WBC champion. This reeks of bull****, i just don't get boxing sometimes...

WBC maximizes income by collecting sanctioning fees from 2 fights instead of one.

The same posters who are up in arms about Margarito/Pacquaio being for a belt are ok with this. What a surprise, the integrity of the boxing organizations organizations is a issue only when it doesn't go in the favor of their favorite boxers. When the sanctioning bodies' corruption does favor their favorites, then it's ok and makes sense.

The only reason? You are shook.
How about because they are the two best fighters in the tournament? How about because they should both be undefeated right now? How about because they are 5-10 years younger than Froch/Abraham, yet already have similar title histories and resume.

I'd like to see one reason why Ward-Dirrell shouldn't have been approved.

neither ward or crying dirrell are championship material. light hitters and mentally soft do not make champs. Zero fan base that generates little interest and gate receits. No tv ratings. Two soft marshmellows from the ******.

Sauerland must feel let down though. They made one of their fighters drop the belt so that another one of theirs could fight for a vacant title. Now they might be left without anything.

**** Sauerland, they've been manipulating who gets the belts and who gets the shots at them for a decade now.

About time somebody finally showed them that they aren't in control.

If Abraham would win the title there is a good chance that the cheating crook Sauerland wouldn't let him go to the US for the final anyway and we would never see a unification.

This way the WBC ensures that the title ends up in the hands of one of the best young stars in the sport and doesn't end up in Germany being defended against a bunch of hopeless opponents for years on end.

I would rather have my sanctioning bodies title represented in an all out war between Froch and Abraham, instead of the borefest Ward vs Dirrell is going to be. That's if they ever grow the balls to face each other.

This is why boxing sucks sometimes...

Before I heard about this I always thought champions from one organisation couldnt be ranked or fight for vacant belts from another one.
