Dirrell was the number 1 contender wasn't he? This makes sense and the winner will basically be the man at 168.

Maybe Ward and Dirrell will actually sort their shit out now and fight, and have an incesive to win seeing that there will be two major belts on the line.

Both belts stay in the tournament so i don't see a problem with that, but you know there's some Yank bias going through the WBC, because they only care about the dollar. Corrupt mother-fuckers.

The finals will be held in the US, so the Abraham/Froch winner will only carry the puncher's chance against the Americans as the latter are better all-rounders.....as long as the ref is as neutral as can be, the show must go on.

All these sanctioning bodies are - money, money, money..... nothing too shocking with this outcome, although i'm sure Froch and Abraham may have a word or two to say about it.

So let's get this right,Abraham DQ's himself by throwing an illegal blow, and Ward beat Kessler and Green badly, yet you insist that something shady favours the "yanks"??? It is called skill...
The only thing shady is Froch getting a decision over Dirrell!

call it as they see it, it's their belt - however, Dirrell whilst skilled as a boxer is hardly a game fighter that looks like he enjoys showing the colours of a champion and being worthy of being called a champion with his antics. Ward i have heard good things about but only watched youtube videos of. Froch and Abraham in my mind are worthy champion material with all they bring to the ring.
            politics i guess.

Not that much of a shocker, Andre Dirrell is #1 in the WBC rankings. Ward is unranked but WBA champ and recently beat Kessler (before he was WBC champ).
Froch and Abraham are ranked #2 and #3, so I guess it was close, but the decision is far from being outrageous.

The real travesty is the Dirrell-Ward fight itself, because it seems like all those rumours had quite a bit of truth in them. If the fight does not happen this year, all hell will break loose...

Well,I kinda agree with you,but I also believe the WBC made the right choice with this tournament.

They sure as hell made the wrong choice for a vacant belt at JMW where two guys haven't been at that weight more than 1 time between two fighters, let alone fighting for the vacant belt at a catchweight!!!! How the hell does the WBC figure their rankings on some divisions?

What do they bring? A puncher's chance and one dimensional skills? Abraham is better than Froch, but I wouldn't say he is anything other than a glorified slugger.

This is a ****** move by the WBC, it would have been even more marketable having froch v abe winner being the wbc champ against the wba champ in the final. Ward isn't even ranked, Froch is the ex WBC champion. This reeks of bull****, i just don't get boxing sometimes...
