Alright, Ms. Cleo ; I'm done with you.

If you're going to sit there and pretend to know how things would've played out 3 years ago had circumstances been different, I've got nothing more to say to you other than enjoy fantasyland.

You don't know that. You can't know that... He could have been 10 times more popular by being a more likeable personality.

Which is kind of idiotic when you think about it because the biggest sports star in America every single year Are black....

Floyd is a product of his upbringing, imagine being raised by Floyd Sr. and his uncle Roger? I mean there's a reason this dude is so mentally ***ed up and is so emotionally unstable.

When I watched the 24/7 between him and DLH, I noticed something that very few probably noticed. While Mayweather was walking around with 50K in cash in his pocket and a watch and chain that were worth 1 million dollars, DLH was walking around in jeans and a polo shirt with a leather wrist band watch.

It was amazing to me how the kid from the REAL hood (DLH) was walking around more humble than the supposedly hood kid in Mayweather who in reality was raised most of his life in Michigan suburbs....

This latest rant about Pacquaio is the classic example of why America has never embraced him and why he's not a cross over success like DLH, Tiger Woods, Shaq etc. He shows no class and no respect towards others while simultaneously screaming about how nobody respects him.

To those of you that say he's "Keeping it real" all you are doing is perpetuating the ignorant stereotype that young black kids like Mayweather give off to the rest of the world and then wonder why nobody takes them seriously. The sad thing is, millions of young kids see this and emulate it and think that's being "real" or what a real tough guy should act like. When in actuality it takes more of a man to come from where Pacquaio comes from, smile all the time and take care of his own people and the people around him the way he does.

Like I have said before, Floyd is an amazing fighter, his skills and work ethic cannot be denied but him as a person leaves a lot to be desired. He's classless like his father and uncle before him. It was JCC who shut his uncles mouth and hopefully Pac can shut the huge mouth of Mayweather.
        Crossover stars:

        Ali, Tyson, DLH, Leonard.

        In that order.

        Good post. Green K.

Neither Pac nor May are crossover stars, yet.

          What about Pernell Whitaker?

He was a pretty damn big star in the boxing sense, even had some crossover appeal, too BITD.

He was just as skilled as Floyd. Didn't make as much money, but salary was different back then, and endorsements were still relatively new to boxing at that time.

But he had crossover success to the general sports audience, and he never played the role of a ****head.

Why aren't the likes of Winky, Mosley and Williams far bigger then they are then????

Name me ONE good black fighter who has raked **** in over the last 10 years who has played a good nice down to earth guy i beg you.. cause there has been many many great black fighters over that time and none have done anywhere near the business Mayweather has = FACT

See, Floyd is more known to the casual fan for being a caricature villain with a big mouth rather than the skills he possesses... that right there is a shame.

Because people are witnessing greatness right in front of their very eyes, but don't recognize it because of his BS bad guy persona.

His pockets are full, he's crossed over, he needs to drop the act it isn't needed anymore.

Unfortunately dude will never get full credit for his accomplishments by most people until long after he retires because of this.

Not only that, he isn't doing himself or his community any favours by perpetuating negative racist stereotypes to the whole world, because you know the media just lap that **** up.

                That guy was Ray Leonard.

That was a long ass time ago.

Look at Tyson. Trash talker. One of the biggest stars EVER.

Look at Winky, Mosley, Williams, Dawson, etc.

The last big star that was black to not talk trash was back in the 80's. Floyd watched all these guys before him bomb out their star power. Especially Mosley.

That smile and kiss babes routine doesnt work with black boxers its just the truth.

Being a pretty big star is one thing.

Being THEE biggest star in boxing and one of the biggets stars in any sport is a whole different ball game.

Just think of Floyd like a rapper, since that is basically what his whole persona is based off of.

What good guy rapper is there?

The only thing I disagree with is the love/hate thing.

I think it's much harder to get someone to hate you than it is to get someone to like you.

Human beings in general (and especially sports fans) are always looking for that next person that'll spark their intrest - more so in the sports world.

Why do you think a guy like Tim Tebow is so beloved by the sports media?

You think he'd be half as popular as he is if he were trash talking every team he played, throwing money in people's faces, and going on racist rants on the internet?
I totally disgree as far as it is "Harder to get someone to hate you" all it takes is a few comments to get someone to hate you, it is tougher to get more people to like you especially for BLACK ATHLETES...don't believe me??? fine lets look at Shane Mosley career for example, why is it that Mosley at 37 and 38 is just now starting to get big Paydays, Shane always been a great guy but for some reason nice guys get overlooked in boxing, unless they have an entire country behind them

as for Tebow...again it is a lot easier for him then it is a Boxer who basically have to make himself INTO A STAR
