nate campbell would have been a better opponent than david diaz but hindsight is 20/20.

arum planned on him fighting diaz at 135 since before campbell beat juan diaz.

that's why diaz was on the undercard of pac-marquez 2 only a couple of weeks after diaz-campbell.

mosley he could have fought at 147 instead of cotto but cotto and mosley were #1 and #2 in the rankings so not much difference there except cotto was also more money.

out of 50 plus fights , pac has only fought 5 times above 130. not too many great african american fighters during his time in those divisions. certainly not around 2001-2007 after he started fighting in the u.s.
Thanks Tua for being man enough to not rely on ****** ass race card bull****.

There wre more like Zahir Raheem or Zab Judah. If top rank is building manny there is no reason to seek out these typpes of fighters. Economically it doesn't make sense.

Look at it like this. Top rank said Yuri foremna was too tall for manny, yet he is the same size as marg. Yuri's style is not something you expose manny to prior to a floyd fight (at least to the general public). Why take the chance of manny looking bad. That hurts sales.

Unfortunately some people are quick to go to race and not think about the economics.

They may not beat manny, but they will surely make him look less than spectacular (like JMM).

From a reward standpoint, few black american fighters generate the kinds of large ppv sales/live gates that mexican and puerto rican boxers do. In that respect its silly for top rank to match manny gainst say Zahir Raheem (someone many posters ******ly say manny ducked).

Its not about race. Its about economic growth and future economic opportunities. Too bad tua and psychoddad immediately go to race.
yeah i wonder why psychodad and i go immediately to race.

i mean you're basically classifying some sort of stylistic superiority because of it.

I didn't say that nor did I imply it. Your problem is you were so quick to associate the post with race because you saw the words black american. Its about economics. Please see my post to **** buffman. Your post suggests you think the same.

top rank never said anything about yuri being too tall.

it was pacquiao and it was taken out of context.

i saw the clip of the interview , american media translated.

pacquiao in tagalog/filipino stated that he thought a foreman fight was gonna be boring.

he didn't think foreman was that good and he would fight a boring style and put on a boring fight because of his height and length.

he didn't say anything about foreman being too tall for him.

                      it's not that.

from how you posted that it seemed like you're referring to african-americans as fighting a certain way.

i don't like people saying all african-americans are boxer/counter-punchers anymore than i like people saying mexicans are unskilled , tough brawlers.
