My own understanding is that Faith does not have to do with what a religion is telling the faithful.
Faith, IMHO, is trusting that a God is there watching over a person. Whether the person makes a mistake or not, Faith is always there.
To answer your question, Pacquiao's faith is strong in the sense that he believes that a powerful God is always looking after him. It's really a very simple kind of faith devoid of the many complicated teachings of his religion.
However, his response to the goodness of that God he believes in, is another thing. He can stumble, he can commit mistakes, errors, sins etc, but I believe he must also have asked forgiveness from this God.
