My own understanding is that Faith does not have to do with what a religion is telling the faithful.

Faith, IMHO, is trusting that a God is there watching over a person. Whether the person makes a mistake or not, Faith is always there.

To answer your question, Pacquiao's faith is strong in the sense that he believes that a powerful God is always looking after him. It's really a very simple kind of faith devoid of the many complicated teachings of his religion.

However, his response to the goodness of that God he believes in, is another thing. He can stumble, he can commit mistakes, errors, sins etc, but I believe he must also have asked forgiveness from this God.

You might want to study the rest of the cultures around the world before saying my comment is ignorant.

Anyway, I find it amusing the way you say "it's a cheater's thing",

It's like saying, "once a cheater, always a cheater."

Haven't you been a cheater at one point in your life?

Your comment IS ignorant. And this post is irrelevant. How ****** of you to say steroids/PEDs is an American thing. Are you willing to stand by that ignorant, dumb comment? I'm not even American but I can't stand an ignorant dummy who posts these things as fact.

Regardless of all that **** you just said you can't have faith in God and be superstitous. If that is the case you really have no faith in God if you believe in supertitions.

I don't believe in Santa Clause.

But I'm just telling that you just have to respect a person believing in a God, whether the name of that God is Allah or Yahweh, it does not really matter.

Well, Pacquiao believes in that, and he was brought up by a mother who is religious, who can argue with such an experience? That's the way he was brought up, believing in a God.

I can respect those who don't believe in a God.

That's why I said Pacquiao's faith is very simple. It's devoid of all theological and biblical complexities. He simply believes that there is a good God who has been good to him all his life and he just wants to thank that God by giving his God a proper respect.

No matter how simple his faith maybe or whatever God he believes in my statement remains true. You can not have faith and believe that God protects you and have supertitions. That is oil and water my friend **** just don't mix!!!!

Man, all I'm saying is it's a cultural thing. Americans are much more famous on this compared to other countries, particularly the Philippines. Who and how many of them are caught using PEDs/steroids are ? Compare this to other athletes from other countries?

Go to the Philippines and observe the simple folks there. It's simply the reality there.
