When I say it's an american thing, I'm saying all along that PEDs/Steroids are brought about by a certain culture of too much competition where athletes are pressured to excel. Sosa, Ramirez, etc are not americans but they are all playing within the american culture. They practically lived already in the US since they are playing in US-based athletic organizations/teams.

My whole point in all this is that Pacquiao has not been influenced by such a culture, he does not live in America, he only trains in America, that is why PEDs/Steroids are all too foreign to him. But some people don't believe this because they operate in an american mentality and culture.

When you are talking about cultural influences, you are forgetting to mention the fact that, the Philippines is one of the most corrupt countries on the face of the planet. This is not an insult, but a fact. I know MANY filipinos. I have lived there and my wife is a filipina. Corruption, bribery, cronyism are natural parts of everyday life there. I was shocked how bad it is.

Also, you are say that culturally, filipinos aren't competitive. Well, maybe not normally, but there are exceptions to every rule and there are MANY exceptions in this case. I have known many filipinos driven by competition . Considering the fact that, filipinos are bombarded daily by corruption and the fact that filipinos strive to get ahead in life, I don't believe it would be too much of a stretch, to say that Pac might not be above using PED's(im not saying he is).
