ive listed several catchweight fights where the bigger person was made to go down in weight yet still won & never had a bad medical condition because of the catchweights.

ive listed several fighters fighting in weight classes smaller than their natural weight but continually still win & never had a problem medically.

cliff rold himself said that catchweights was made due to cancellations & not medical reasoning,

yet posters here in nsb want to act like catchweight medical researchers & physicians who now the exact ill effects & advantages/disadvantages of catchweight fights.

now go find me some commie bastards joe mccarthy.

How much can we really hold it against him the 145lb catchweight & proposed 150lb catchweight vs cotto & margarito when the 24 rehydration stunt in today's era is in effect?

How do we analyze the 24 re hydration rule in historical context?

Old time fighters never had to deal with it. But in regards to pacquiao, who in 3 welterweight fights cant even make 147, how can we really criticize him when on fight night he's not even facing welterweights?

When henry armstrong fought welterweights, he fought welterweights on fight night. when pacquiao fights welterweights, he fights junior middleweights & middleweights on fight nights.

The 24 hr rehydration rule in today's era must be taken into consideration. It completely negates all the criticisms of catchweight fights.

The catchweight criticism is a inaccurate, unsubstantiated, superficial disadvantage/advantage because of the 24 rehydration rule.

The thing with lower CW is that the naturally bigger guy is forced to train at a lower weight than he would normaly over the last 3-4 weeks of training , this will hurt him to the degree of how hard it is for him to make weight in the end ,, youve got to work from the weigh-in backwards to understand this , see when you force the end weight down into a set area below where your comfatable it forces you to have less muscle mass through the crucial period in training they cant have some mass because it will ultimately hold water , it was only 2 pounds with Cotto but it hurt him , its was murder for ODH to the point of dead man walking where his muscle mass was so drawn down they had to give IV fluids to try force his system to take in some water ,, and it will hurt Margo to some degree after his lay off and his higher weight fight to glue some of that weght gain into his body , Roach is very smart and good on him he is playing to win , Roach has played the weight game with Manny perfectly they know exactly what they are doing with Margo and CW .

Pacquiao benefitted from these weigh-ins for years at lighter weights...

im guessing than anybody who's posting this bull**** never boxed. do u kno how hard it is for some guys to make their weights?? now u make a guy lose one extra lb, u kno how had he has to strain his body to do it??? now make that same guy lose 3 extra lbs...that drains a fighter. rehydrating does not make u fit the day of the fight. u take so much out of yourself trying to lose the weight that it would take a great deal more than 24 hrs to put all the vital nutrients and water back into your body on time. not to mention the extra time you have to put into cutting the weight which can take away from training both mentally and physically.

dude, u cant say something like that without having boxed yourself or without being around boxers who have struggled to make weight. its very very inaccurate.

There's a certain stage where the body cannot recover from in 24 hours. These fighters are already pushing their bodies to the limits of where they can get down to and still recuperate enough to perform at a hig level, having to knock off a few more pounds could be devastating.

Cotto was getting rocked by Demarcus Corley and Paulie Malignaggi at 140, when he rose to 147 the difference was noticeable because he started to take punches better and he's only one clear example of dehydrating causing a noticeable difference.

Take for example Pacquiao himself, why did he get knocked out by 2 journeymen after he'd already been a Flyweight champion?

              Take a guess...

So you'd say the Singsurat loss was legit?

Manny's been hit with plenty of body shots since then and has only been visibly hurt by it once (Marquez II). Why was he getting dropped and stopped by 2 journeymen when he was a lot bigger than everyone else in his weight class?

                      anyways......

but yeah torrecampo fight was before he was champion.

though he did have trouble making weight in that fight as well.
