Really? "At will"?? I didn't see it in that vid. Other than the first 15 seconds where the guy was fresh and got 3 - 4 shots it looked like Toney slipped and rolled off anything that the guy threw at him.

Is he supposed to knock every guy out in the first 30 seconds? I thought Toney had always been more of a volume puncher as opposed to a KO artist...I thought you could count on one hand the number of guys he's finished in his entire career that would have been quicker than he tko'd this guy.

Toney is an active legend, he was in his prime back in the 90's...I respect and think Toney is the man personally, but a lot of boxing fans seem to forget just what Toney did in the past. Im not for disrespecting a fighter clearly past his prime still shooting for glory, Im with that. A lot of people are just bitter about what happened with Couture, but they will be back with Toney soon enough.

I guess that's what I'm thinking like too.

The guy's last two losses in his last 24 fights include one loss to Peter which was by split decision, plus he did go the distance in both fights.

He might be a fat and out of shape boxer...but he's still a tough and competitive son of a ***** despite that and I'm guessing he'd be a serious fight for almost any fighter out there (note that I didn't say "every" fighter)

Yah man, Ill its James "Lights Out" Toney...**** the guys a legend in the sport, he should be treated as one. Everyone gets old, time catches everyone but we shouldnt forget just who he was when he was a younger fighter. Or not cheer for him now that hes an older fighter chasing the same dream he once had.

Toney legacy was sealed way back before he even moved up to Heavyweight

Toney was one of the greatest Middleweights ever, most of the people bashing him are young and dumb and clearly haven't been watching boxing very long and clearly they are not aware of the Middleweight Version of Toney's, all they know is the Heavyweight Version of James Toney, although he has done well at Heavyweight, that wasn't anything close to his great ERA at Middleweight

              this is ******.

toney had his shot at a title. if he would've won, he would've had the opportunity to fight one of the Klitchko brothers. Toney has no one to blame for him not getting the big names. no one but himself.

And this is coming from a James Toney fan!!!!!

The K-bros, Haye, these guys aren't gonna fight Toney just because of his name recognition. this isn't the UFC!!! Toney has to win the fights that count in order to get the big names at HW.

Now that toney got his ass whupped by couture, no one is gonna fight him now. he's pretty much a pariah in boxing and he deserves it for going into an MMA fight weighing over 220 lbs. fat bastard.

He lost to Peter a couple times and now he's a nobody?? Does a boxer only have value in this sport if he actually defeats everyone over the course of the last decade he's been fighting, and only if the Klitchko's or Haye fights him???

Because he has two losses he now holds absolutely zero value for you??

And you know as well as I do that every boxing fan on the planet would have been hanging on Toney's nuts like a demi-god if he beat Couture. Toney had the nuts to step into another sport and go after top flight competition...hell, you hardly find many elite fighters in boxing willing to risk their reputation against other elite boxers in their own sport!!! (see Mayweather...)

W vs. Oquendo: is at least top 40...ranked higher than that at the time they fought.

D and NC vs. Rahman: is at least top 40...ranked higher than that at the time they fought. He tko'd Rahman in the second bout but had that overturned due to roiding.

Split decision L and decision L vs. Sam Peter: at least top 10. Took him the distance both times and won on one judges scorecard in the first bout.

Record of 3W 2L 1D 1NC his last 7 fights. The no contest was a win on his record until it was overturned.

That's not unrespectable considering he fought 5 of the last 7 fights with top 35 fighters.

His competition hasn't necessarily been cans have they? (well, maybe his last fight was??).

did you watch the Oquendo fight? Most people felt he lost that fight.

No, I didn't. That's useful to know though.

I'm just trying to understand all the hate (not because of the foray into mma, but just in general)
