you need to look at some of his other stats... especially how fat this ****er was for all his fights after the holyfield fight. if toney wants to be taken serious that **** bastard gotta be at most 215-220.
He may very well be past his prime and may never challenge for the title, but he is still winning fights, no?
if that fat bastard was in better shape, he'd be winning all his fights.

It seems that everyone argues that he hasn't fought anyone relevant lately, but he claims that fighters are ducking him. Is there possibly any truth to that?
why should toney deserve a shot if that fat bastard can't get in shape? I mean, as a boxer and athlete, that's your ****in job. to get in shape.

man I love toney, but he's a fat bastard who doesn't like to train and can't stop shoving food down his mouth. sorry, that's just the truth.

When you consider his prime was early to mid 90s and you consider it's now 2010, and he's weighing 80+ pounds more than he did during his prime, he's well out of shape and has been for years and he doesn't apply himself during training, it's easy to see why nobody takes him seriously.

But he's still winning fights. Isn't that the ultimate measure?

I'm not arguing that he's "prime" still. It sucks that he's fat and doesn't take his training seriously...but he's still winning despite his shortfalls, isn't he?

He might not perform at the same level as he did before, but he's still performing well enough to win in this division against most fighters doesn't he?

My understanding is that he's fighting anyone willing to fight him. I hear that many of the big names avoid fighting him.

Is it a valid argument to say "who has he fought" if no one is willing to take him on?

He's a drugs cheat like Roy Jones and Shane Mosley.

                I can appreciate that perspective.

I'm assuming that he's being more stringently tested now though?

Toney is old and shot. He was a great fighter though and he can still do well in boxing cuz he's very expierenced. but hes way too old to learn new tricks and participate in mma.

He arguably lost to Fres Oquendo and hes not a top contender by far. He fought a bum in his last boxing fight.

Look how a ****in bum club fighter just hits him at will. This is James latest fight and hopefully his last. I'm a major JT fan but he is done.
