Surely Pacquiao is top 10/20 greatest fighters of all time

Pac has won titles in 7 different weight classes....I'm not sure where you are getting 6 from?

pacquiao has won championships in 7 weight divisions but only actual hardware in 6. When Pacquiao beat Barrera at 126 Barrera was the ring magazine linear champion but didnt did actually pick up a belt because Barrera refused to pay the sanctioning fee and vacated the belt he won from Morales.

So people count that as 1 of pac's 7 championships but as far as "titles" he's only won titles in 6 weight divisions. but either way more than floyd's 5.

I got him and Floyd both Top 40-50.

Pac is nowhere near the Top 20. No matter how many **** belts he picks up t pad his weight clas record he wont get past that mark unless he beats Floyd Mayweather or a string of elite fighters.

Beyond all the drama and the headlines and the hype. Yeah he deserves to be in the top 20 as much as, if not more than, Floyd.

If the OSTs go down and a fight gets made they would both deserve to be right up there. As fighting goes for what he's done moving weight PAcquiao deserves the credit.

If there was a fight even between their children, people would pay to watch it.

This is some funny stuff. Apparently Gatti> Tszyu and Hatton, Baldomir> Margarito and Cotto, and Oscar> Forrest.

Also, one catchweight title fight = Lots of titles picked up at catchweights, and a fight many think he lost against Castillo = domination.

I love how this poster puts everyone on ignore so he doesn't get disagreement.

What I also like it is how some of these "good" "Knowledgeable" "respectable" "smart" Floyd fans don't call him on his bullshit.

Hopkins, Jones, Pacquiao, and Mayweather are the only fighters who are active that are surefire top 50 ATG's. Pacquiao is around 25, and you can put the rest wherever you want (obviously behind Pacquiao).

first of all there is plenty of footage from the 30's and 40's, that u dont know that shows u are not very well informed on boxing history. that alone puts your ranking of the ATGs in question, not saying u dont know current boxing or what goes on inside the ring, but boxing history u clearly do not.

also the "PED user or not" comment doesnt make any sense at all, if pac was to get caught using illegal substances that would obviously hurt his legacy badly as it should.

what the whole thing comes down to when comparing current fighters with ATGs is, could they have competed in any era? fighters today often duck and cherrypick oponents, greats in past eras didnt do that. they fought everyone so u knew who the best was, including taking on guys with diffrent styles and being forced to adapt. thats key, being able to adapt to any style. many fighters today dont have that ability and manny for one is yet to be tested in that regard, since he is amongst the fighters who cherrypicked ppl who has a good style for him. that puts him far from the top 20 in my book.

as for fighters in the 30's and 40's, back then the sport was evolved enough for them to compete with current fighters from a skill standoint, and at the same time they were as tough as the less skilled greats from the fight to the finish era. they also worked harder than fighters of today or bare knuckle fighters. any credit the fighters from the 30's and 40's get is well deserved, watch the very much existing footage of their fights and u will know for yourself.
