I think a young fighter with unlimited potential is very smart for stopping at the point he knew he could no longer win instead of takin unnecessary punishment that could affect his future. Im in no way dogging Vazquez, but he was being called a quitter from the same type of people I now hear call Ortiz a quitter with no future.
He didn't quit because he had a broken nose, he quit because that broken nose made it too hard to breathe, which is far more understandable than Ortiz quitting because he was getting knocked around a little. His circumstances for quitting were strange, whereas Vazquez almost didn't have a choice.

          I agree.

People are making too much of it, ever since those exaggerated comments by the de****able Max Kellerman.

              Its not the same imo.

Vazquez had already proven his mettle by that point and for him to quit like he did only proved that Rafa did serious damage to his nose.

I don't think anyone held that against him because of his history of Warriorness.

Ortiz on the other hand had no history of toughness to fall back on, he failed his first test at the hands of the most Dangerous Man at 140.

              Marcos "El Chino" Maidana.

              No racist.

Why couldnt he properly defend himself? Were his hands tied behind his back after he was hurt?

Thats what Im getting at though he proved that if he receives enough punishment he will quit. Unfortunately for everyone else its going to be hard to deliver the type of punishment he received by choosing to brawl El Chino. If he boxes el Chino he doesnt receive the same amount of punishment and even if he brawls the rest of 140 none of the other top guys hit like Maidana.

Cmon dont be silly now. Thats like me asking why Vazquez couldnt breathe were his lips sewed shut when his nose got broke? Ortiz quit because Maidana had wore him down and was hitting him with every right hand he threw. If Ortiz hadnt quit no doubt he would have been knocked out.
