I'd like to see Maidana, Ortiz and Lamont Peterson face eachother, see who comes out on top between those 3. Instead Ortiz's bitch ass is looking to face Vivian Harris and Maidana is facing Corley who's been done for a while now.

is that why nobody's fighting him?

maidana would beat the **** out of devon a possibly khan. devon can't handle even a light puncher's pressure and khan has a better shot, but his chin may give up after a couple of clean shots

bradley's the only guy i'm pretty convinced that would beat him 9 out of 10 times

What kind of comparison is that? You do know that Kotelnik applied smart pressure through a shell defense, doesn't telegraph his punches and is a straight shooter, right? You do know that Maidana is the complete opposite of that, right? I always said Alexander lacked good defense, but in no way is Maidana gonna put hands on him, atleast not nearly as much as Kotelnik did. Also understand that Maidana like Urango is gonna run into shots. So Alexander while not being a hard puncher IS gonna do damage.

Looking back, I really liked what Amir Khan did against Kotelnik. It was indeed the perfect game plan. I don't see Maidana dealing with Khan's combination punching/ quick in and out movement. Plus Khan has developed a really good defense, he has that high guard defense going for him.

Agreed about Lamont Peterson. People have taken a sh** on him because he lost to Bradley, but its not like he was horrible in that fight and one good win against Ortiz or Maidana and we're mentioning him back among the best at 140. He certainly has the skills to be there.

Agree with this, i also think Holt could come again if he gets himself together, look at the trouble he gave Bradley in their fight, admittedly a while ago now.

I think i underrate Maidana as i don't fall for the hype. Ortiz fought recklessly as he tried to out-pressure the stylistically wrong sort of fighter. If he used his smarts, he could have decisioned him....and i would back Ortiz in a rematch if one ever came off. He fought Kotelnik in a close fight, which i scored a draw.

I also see Khan, Alexander and Bradley all decisioning him much more then i see him stopping any of them, because he sure won't be outboxing them. Like i stated, maybe i'm underrating?

Its not like Ortiz was taking a Cotto like beating.
Actually he was Maidana was taking over and hurting him bad. To me Ortiz is a quitter reguardless of the beatdown he was getting it was Maidana's will to fight that broke him. And that will to fight it's what makes Maidana special.

i always shared that opinion on Maidana. He's very overrated. Maidana hits hard but his boxing abilities are horrible and his defense is non existent. Mayorga was a better fighter. Maidana is as good as Ricardo Torres

Maidana is much more than what some people give him credit for while he's not as skilled at Bradley or Kahn but his heart and will to fight make up for his lack of skills. Don't sleep on Maidana Ortiz did and look at what happened to him.
                    This right here.

Nobody ranks Chino tops in the division. That doesn't mean he doesn't have a legit chance at beating any of them on any given night. It's a mistake to simply label him as not as skilled as the top guys in the division without further thought

alexander vs urango looked on its way to shift momentum in some spots (not saying urango would've won), then the KO happened. urango doesn't compare to maidana in terms of how well they pressure anyway (ask ortiz about that) he won't pressure as smartly as kotelnik, but won't do so as ******ly as urango. devon just struggles fighting backwards, and that's how he'll fight against maidana (unless he ends it early)

i highly doubt that khan's chin has improved, but yeah, he has a better defense and is fighting smarter now. maidana WILL land a couple of hard shots on khan no matter how much he has improved, so it'll be up to what his chin can endure when that happens
