I can't honestly believe that anyone on this forum thinks that Larry Holmes was at his best for Tyson when they fought. That makes me sick.

tucker, smith, green, berbick, spink, old holmes, tubb and brigg none of them could really touch tyson in his prime, only 3 of them landed 1 single hard shot on tyson and that is nobody could hit tyson more than that in his prime. that must explain a lot i mean all in top10 took a lot of punishment in the prime by bad, mediem and good fighter tysons defence was that good. and his agressivite was to scary. after catskill when he fough bruno in the first fight he was ****ed up he got lucky to win over bruno, got hit and outmusclear by bruno. he looks dumb like he didnt had his brain with him. prime vs prime i choose ali, tyson and holmes.

I rated the top ten heavyweights of all time and I think I had Tyson 7 or 8.

            Ali
            Johnson
            Foreman
            Liston
            Holmes
            Lewis
            Holyfield
            Tyson
            Louis
            Dempsey
            Frazier
            Marciano

Did you just put Joe Louis #9. Joe Louis was the most accomplished heavyweight of all time. He had 26 title defenses. Ali & Louis are #1 & 2 period. I put Marciano in the top 5, the guy retired undefeated with 49 wins. How many boxers you can find that retired undefeated.

Mike Tyson never defeated a HEAVYWEIGHT of any consequence in his career. Sure, he KO’d Spinx for the title, but lets not forget Spinks was a natural light heavyweight. Aside from Spinx, who else was there that he defeated that worth worth a crap? Bonecrusher Smith? Please.

The “good” heavyweights of Tyson’s time all beat him, and beat him soundly. Does anyone remember the Ear Eating Contest with Holyfield? How about the supposed Brit with the glass jaw that absolutely destroyed Tyson?

Why people would even fathom Tyson being one of the all-time greats is beyond me. Sure he had power in both hands and was very aggressive. His defense was average, due to his head movement. His conditioning was horrible, along with a non-existent jab or any counterpunching ability. Also, Tyson had a chin like a 6 year old.

I’m sorry to say, but the people who love Tyson and think he was God’s gift to the heavyweight division really need to go back and watch the fights and especially WHO he fought. They might actually reconsider their argument.
I don't think Tyson had the chin of a six-year-old, but he sure as hell is NOT an all-time great. He beat bums.
