Being one of the best in your prime doesn't make you one of the top 10 greats of all time. He had a short reign of terror, and while beating a few decent contenders, he never had an actual bout until Douglas knocked him around. By saying he was the best in his prime brings nothing to the argument. However, you don't make a list of best by only looking at them in their prime.

He might of been 1 of the top 10 greats if he never came out of retirement. Hes still on of the best in my books no matter what though.

silly. Both these guys beat Ali.
If you beat the men who beat Ali
than you are better than Ali himself.
Mike is the greatest of all time.

hey mike is the greatest of all time no doubt but thats not why. the reason is that in his prime with his style he had he would have ripped any heavyweight in history to pieces. but come on you have to know that berbick and holmes fought ali when ali had nothing at all left.

13 Good/Medicore fighters.... Compare that to other great Heavyweights and who they have beaten to gain/retain/regain the belts.

                Tyson, Top 10 All Time?

I'll have to say that after watching Mike Tyson's entire professional career, and being a lifetime boxing fan, that Mike Tyson could be on the all-time honorable mention category.

Personally, I think that George Foreman and Mike Tyson would rank #1 and #2 in all time one punch kayo power.

However, early on in Mike's career, he was easily frustrated by taller, rangier fighters.

Mitch "Blood" Green gave him problems, James "Quick" Tillis, and Bonecrusher Smith also exposed him early on, and those guys were not "A" quality fighters by any means.

Tyson had probably more overall quickness coupled with raw power over just about any other modern heavyweight I can think of.

However, in almost every instance, once Tyson was actually pushed into later rounds, where he really had to dig, he never really showed the heart of a true champion.

For this reason, I fail to put him in the top 5 of all time. I can just think of too many former heavies who could beat him.

Tyson has to rank in the top ten heavyweights of all time. But a prime Tyson could have beaten any heavyweight in their prime in any era. He was that good.

Yeah he could probably knockout anybody with one solid punch. If Ali can take that punch, Ali can neutralize Tyson. But without a doubt prime against prime Tyson should be top 10 of all time.
