But considering how some of those Ring writers have always been so negative about and biased against him, it surprises me they've allowed him into the #10 position.
He could realistically be rated #3 if you wanted to because of Dawson falling off and even though JMM won he looked older and slower against Diaz.

This all while Wlad rarely gets hit much now or loses rounds anymore, who else in boxing has fought for 9 round before stopping the #3 rated fighter in their division and gets hit with I swear I counted no more than 9 clean punches Chagaev landed on Wlad.

        We came up with:
        Caballero
        Pascal
        Bute
        Ward
        Bradley
        Moreno

We didn't even think of Wladimir Klitschko, because he probably should have been on the list every time someone like Hatton or Cotto lost, but he never got on there. He just kind of slipped my mind. I'm happy that he finally is recognized as one of the ten best fighters in the sport, because I definitely do think that he is deserving of that honor.
Working on updating the site's list in the next few days...I already have Bradley on and don't think Pascal quite merits yet. The other candidates you suggest are verbatim where my head is.

I understand the case which can be made for Wlad. I disagree strongly. P4P, were all fighters mythically the same size, he wouldn't sniff the top ten. He's a very good Heavyweight and deserves high praise in that division.

Your P4P list is a joke, Dawson #4 fighting old men? Im thinking of 3-4 people who don't deserve to be there. Your honestly telling me with the Klit Bros brains / hard word / dedication they wouldn't scratch the top 10? Thats a bigot statement because for all you know they would be the same at lightweight or middleweight as they are now in heavy weight. Look how feared and dominant they are, its for a good reason. Name me the last time there was someone who was so dominant and feared either in HW or boxing in general that people duck them left and right to avoid fighting? Plus their desire to unify all their belts and fight their mandatorys shows a lot unlike Dawson who plays Nintendo duck hunt and avoids anyone who is under 40 or poses a problem. You guys putting him at such a high position when he has fought nobodies proves how dumb the list is where he is ranked so high but the brothers who have been dominating the last 5 years and they dont even scratch it?

Maybe they should sign with Golden Boy so they go up to the #1 and #2 spots since its evident Ring magazine is shady and not neutral.

Youre only hating on them because they are heavyweights, it wouldnt matter if they knocked everyone out in the first round they still wont be considered #1.

Maybe they shouldve been mexican or american midgets fighting 140+ to be on the #1 spot.

Good job putting unproven / less talented / past their prime / less dominant / less skilled fighters in the top 10!

Maybe you could send chad dawson to #3 and Devon Alexander to #4

Dawson lost and is such a way that he'll come out with the update. As to only fighting guys in their 40s, he took the toughest fight available against a prime Pascal (and lost) and had an excellent win over Adamek. As to the 40 year old's, Johnson is still a good fighter regardless of age and more than earned a rematch. Tarver was understandable the first time; the second ****** no doubt. He's out, as he should be, off his loss Pascal.

I have tremendous respect for what the Klits are doing; another piece planed for this week will illustrate just how much. That I don't believe they rate with the ten best in the world is not the same as thinking they are not excellent fighters.

Wlad deserves that #3 spot. Not Marquez.

But the only reason they are not in the top 10 is because they are heavyweights. Isnt it unfair just discredit them from the list? Is there Anything they could ever do or are they pretty much screwed for being born tall? I just think putting in old fighters that are past their prime and not the top of their division and less dominant people ahead of these guys is a bit silly. Would it be diffirent if they fought in USA? or born in the USA and had millions of dollars spent on them promoting them in the USA? I bet if they were American that they would be considered the "greatest ever" and would be Top 5 in Anyones P4P list and thats where they should be.

I just wish the rest of the HW division grew some balls and started fighting them instead of playing Duck Hunt. and the other half of the HW division is a bunch of circus clowns like valuev and the rest are just fat and lazy fighters. (chris arreola) its the only division where you can win a title while training in Taco Bell.

That's not the only reason. I've explained this before. The skill level at Heavyweight is typically less than in other classes and so for a Heavyweight to break through, I think it takes something extra. I never thought Lennox was a P4P type for instance or Bowe; Holyfield on his best day was but was overrated often in that regard.

Conversing with the readers here has at least got me to think about it (in Wlad's case) and the fact that his two best potential foes (Povetkin and Haye) are ducking a shot at THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP is appalling. If he takes Adamek as WBO mando (I expect a repeat against Peter), I'd be hard pressed to exclude the winner.

It's a worthy debate at least, which is all this is. What matters most is in the ring, by division. In that regard, few if any top Wlad right now.

Thats true and i see your point and I do hope that someone does step in and actually pose a challenge to them but it seems like whenever a boxer tries to fight them they back out quickly like Povetkin. I don't know why they are all so scared to protect their record? That's why i like the brothers. They could care less about their record or who they fight as long as they are unifying the belts and the opponent wants to get into the ring with them, they lost a few times and learned from it each time (save for lewis fight) and came back harder. If more HW's had the same desire and respect for boxing and tried to unify all the titles that would be great but it seems like all that other people care about is holding on to some worthless belt and protecting their record instead of fighting top competition and trying to get all the belts out there. I see them having this division on cruise control for another 5 years.

To your original point about HW being the easiest, you also gotta remember that its the only division where you can face someone whos ALOT heavier than you. Imagine bantamweight fighting middleweight ? In HW division that happens all the time especially when valuev fights. Thats why I think that HW could be an extremely easy division when everyone is fat / lazy and unmotivated but it could be extremely hard because you could have a 20-40+ pound weight advantage.

In Povetkin's defense, I think his people were right. He's not ready. He's been riddled with inactivity and hasn't seen a live foe since Chambers. He needs to take on someone with real size to see how he does and adjust. Povetkin should be there by now, but working with Atlas, if they want a few more to refine him, fair enough. Haye has NO EXCUSE. Adamek won't either if he's in line for a mando

And it's not that hard to beat an unskilled tub if the skills are there. Adamek schooled Arreola because he's skilled. He looks better at Heavy than he did lower IMO, partly because his skill level had to be so much better lower.
