He spends his spare time in activities such as raising money to build schools in poor communities in Africa or helping his girlfriend in her quest to save the dolphins.

You know what the usual response to this right? - "Wlad is soft, he has no heart. Tyson got mad heart..."

Wlad is getting his recognition the hard way, one fight at a time. I bet he would be really famous in the US if he all of a sudden assaulted someone, but that's not what he is. Sooner or later, all of the critics will have to give him his respect, two years from now, with 4-6 more wins and all the belts, he will be #1 P4P, what are the haters going to say then?

Im a huge fan of Vitali and Wlad but that has nothing to do with P4P list. If there was a list for Smartest / Nicest Fighters they would be #1 and #2 but it has no revelance on the P4P list.

A heroin junkie drug dealer who did time for murder could be the #1 P4P and lifestyle shouldnt influence the list.

The big problem in they heavyweights is that there is really no competition for them to face so we cant really judge how great they are. Its the only division in boxing where you can be a fat pig and still win a belt. People love Heavyweights naturally and they will naturally get more attention because they are the cream of the crop, its the only division where you can fight someone 40 pounds heavier than you. Imagine a Bantomweight fighting a Middleweight? I hope that there is some competition either out of USA/Poland/Russia/UK that can compete with the brothers before they retire. Who do we have in the heavy weights? A bunch of 40 year old men? A cruiserweight who goes up for fun? and a bunch of circus clowns (valuev and chris arreola). Atleast valuev tries but its really hard when you are that tall and big ( i would call it a disadvantage as opposed to being 6"6 250) . Then you have Arreola who keeps saying he didnt train and will train harder next time but keeps coming in fatter and fatter in every fight. If everyone had the same discipline and smarts like the brothers the HW division would be amazing and it would put boxing back in the mainstream since the casual fans dont care about anything else but HeavyWeights. I dont even think that the brothers are even that naturally talanted as a couple others but they are SMART and Dedicated and they know what works for them so thats why they remain #1 and will stay there until the Division wakes up from their Burrito infested dreams.

True it has no p4p relevance, but it's nice to have heavyweight champions who are good role models for children.

Wlad should be on there although the heavyweight division is weak, but its not his fault that Haye and Povetkin wont fight.

Oh how generous of the Ring to put him at the prestigious spot of #10

He should be in the top 5.

But considering how some of those Ring writers have always been so negative about and biased against him, it surprises me they've allowed him into the #10 position.

After Dawson lost, Warp and I were trying to figure out who would replace him if Dawson dropped off the list...

                We came up with:
                Caballero
                Pascal
                Bute
                Ward
                Bradley
                Moreno

We didn't even think of Wladimir Klitschko, because he probably should have been on the list every time someone like Hatton or Cotto lost, but he never got on there. He just kind of slipped my mind. I'm happy that he finally is recognized as one of the ten best fighters in the sport, because I definitely do think that he is deserving of that honor.

i don't care what anyone says, dawson never had a victory as good as wlad's beat down of a prime chris byrd. top that off with counting the rounds lost in the past few years on one hand - it is tough to have had dawson in the p4p list and not wladimir. i never thought dawson belonged in the first place but what ever.

also for the record, i think rahman was a stay busy fight, plus he is one of the only active fighters that were previous lineal title holders. was holyfield the only other? i dont think the rahman fight helps his legacy much, if at all - but there really was not much better at the time.

and to top it off, who else has been so good that they made a fighter duck as hard as david haye?

wlad deserves a higher spot IMO, and he would have it if the competition were there. you can watch the guy and just know he is a better fighter than most of the guys in the p4p debate.

also in response to original post, "God" had nothing to do with wlad making the p4p list.

FYI Rahman was a late check-in fight, after Povetkin misteriously got hurt a month before their first fight date on 2008. Rahman at that point was a highest ranked opponent in the IBF and was appointed by the organisation as a mandatory defense. Not really a stay busy fight, since Wlad would simply be stripped if he did not fight Hasim.
