let's blame everything on floyd mayweather jr.!!! and i mean EVERYTHING! matter of fact, floyd is the reason dawson lost AND the reason pascal won!
when he said chad dawson is the best boxer pound for pound while he was retired, it made chad stick to his boxing even though he was clearly behind considering the fight's location.
watching old floyd fights also had pascal dance around the ring after throwing in spurts. it's the pot shot strategy, just pascal used an advanced form that utilizes combinations!
now that dawson is trash after losing, it must be floyd's fault because mayweather always brags that he's undefeated and nobody can beat him and that he works harder than everyone else and no one can get through his defense, etc.

well we can blame floyd...or we can see that this is no one's fault but delusional fans. this is further supported by the old saying: you're only as good as your last fight.

you summarized how dawson looked in his last fight. sticking to what works is why he came in undefeated. an inability to turn it up and bare his teeth is why he didn't leave that way. hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

of course, dawson will be back. just about every elite fighter has lost and it often just serves as inspiration as long as the damage recieved wasn't terrible. i expect to see more of the 11th round dawson than the one on the defensive as if trying to protect that '0'.

on a side note, andre berto hasn't been beaten and people already think he's trash.

Floyd always talk about other fighters having losses whenever he's put on spot about fighting them, and we all know this is true based on his interviews (Mosley & Pac for example). He brags about his undefeated record, which he has every right to. It's because of this ****yness that drives 'few' (notice I say few) of his fans into hardcore ***** lunatics who takes his word as gospel and uses his undefeated record as major ammunition against other fanboys. These are the same fools that feels Floyd is GOAT due to his "0 loss" record.

many posters on nsb love to say that they saw it coming when all they've really been saying is this or that fighter is overrated because...they then feel a fighter losing has verified all of their previous complaints.

You have to understand that too many people jump on bandwagons. Some of these fools do it without ever seeing the person box before they just do it cause a lot of other people screaming that person name. They not boxing fans for real!!

well yeah thats my point, It goes both ways. When the fight was approaching All these dawson threads were popping up about how he good he is, he doesnt get his just due. Even ppl who didnt like him were saying they were hoping for Pascal to win but didnt give him much of a chance. But once he lost It was the complete opposite ,Dawsons a bum, he has no heart,ect.. Im not saying the posters who were giving him praise switched sides but where are they now?

One of the biggest problems - and why Chad is getting so much critisism - is the way he lost. He lost in a fight where he had more skill than his opponent and when he put his mind to it, was effective.

The problem was that he was not "pulling the trigger". This is a terrible problem to have because its mental and the mental part of the game is so important and so hard to change.

There is a huge list of fighters who have great skills but arent mentally are there - they become the "coulda been" fighters. Judah, Rocky, Cintron, etc. All these guys have skills to fight with the best, but they lack something in their mentality to make them great.

What Dawson showed on Saturday was he wasnt all there. Maybe this was just a fluke and he had an off day. But if this trend continues he will never live up to the hype that was bestowed on him.

Dawson is clearly awesome but he couldn't beat a good fighter in Pascal. That's no shame only Froch can dominate Pascal.
