Well he actually beat Cintron for a start, unlike Angulo. Then he beat Paul Williams. So I'd say he did a sh.itload more than Angulo.

Cintron isn't a middleweight and Officially it was a draw and I don't know if you heard but "officially" Paul Williams won the fight. I know I know I felt Sergio won both fights too but a loss no matter how close the fight is doesn't exactly earn you anything at least in the real world.

Don't get me wrong not saying Sergio didn't deserve to fight Pavlik and in all honesty I like him a lot but he wasn't anymore deserving to fight for a title than Angulo is right now. Just wanted to point out all the hypocrisy in this thread.

Angulo's head has swollen to the size of Mexico!!According to him, now all of the sudden he's the 1 bringing in the fans..THAT'S A ***ING JOKE!!! ¿Who has Angulo beaten to claim that he's the money maker? The only name that's really well known & sticks out in his resume is Kermit Cintrón & Cintrón(who's a brawler, not a boxer) gave Angulo a boxing lesson in a CLEAR & WELL DESERVED UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY!!! Just imagine what Martinez who's faster, slicker, stronger, hits harder & has way better boxing skills than Cintrón would do to Angulo who's slow & has NO DEFENSE & hasn't improved 1 bit since his lost to Cintrón!!! & somebody should tell Angulo that Martinez has been living & training in Los Angeles for a while know & Maritnez is the champion & Martinez is the 1 who has proven himself against the cream of the crop!!! In that case the fans are more interested in Martinez & Martinez deserves what they offered him...But Angulo needs to stop talking S H I T & still has prove he's more than a contender....

I think Angulo is wrong for not taking the fight but I think he has a valid enough reason not to take it.

Martinez is the 1 with the credentials, especially after his back to back performances against Williams & Pavlik... Angulo has none!! Put Angulo at the Staple center against a "Tomato Can", HE WON'T SELL "S H I T"!!

Credentials don't mean **** when it comes to making money welcome to the real world. Joel Casamayor has all kinds of credentials and the guy is broke beyond broke and never got huge money fights to begin with.


And who says it has to be one way or the other. Maybe if you are 5 years old when everything is either just black or white. Im a full grown person who has a brain that can comprahend critical thinking. Just because your brain doesn't compute rationalizing and thinking outside the box doesn't mean I have to think that way.

Many of you don't have a clue as to what goes down in boxing. The thing is Angulo is not getting $750k. After taxes, and after paying people who are associated with him, he'll be lucky to bring home 200k. Money is the reason many of you guys call fighters cowards for refusing to fight someone, and then as a fan cry when a fight isn't made. Then you the fan quickly spit, "It's the most money he's ever made". STFW! You don't take the punches so wtf are YOU the fan crying about when a fight isn't made? I'm glad Angulo wants more money.

people are just so quick to say a guy is "DUCKING" another fighter I don't think Angulo fears any fighter from 154-160, I can understand him wanting more money especially if Martinez is going to get a Percentage of the gate, but $750k is a lot of money

probably should have negotiated a little more instead of just a "take it or leave it" type of offer

This guy is a beast & very entertaining fighter i love all his fights not like some boxers booooriing im being for real example the last match he had 1 round ko was more entertaining the bradley fight & yes he has gain alot of fans not just mexicans but americans as well - Angulo deserves every penny & I cant wait to see more of his fights
