He had right to to turn this shyt down. How does the Mexican fighter not get a percentage of the live gate when the fight is in Cali??
Then how about they offer $500,000 and a percentage of the gate?

yeah but the fight is at a catchweight and its for the title. itll be on his turf you could say and itll be for more $$ then he ever has gotten and will get compared 2 any other fight he could land at the moment. he aint put in enough work 2 be demanding **** like that yet. idc if its in cali. itll be a pro mexican crowd but thats because he is fighting some1 with a somewhat big name. atleast 10k would show up 2 see him and martinez fight. if its angulo vs the european guy that is the wbo champ at 154, only 2k would show up. **** this, he should fight cintron again. el pato vs el puto.

Angulo turned down His highest Payday at the Staples center? WTF. Gary Shaw is smart enough to at least counter.

I'm impressed. Now these B level fighters acting like prima donnas. He should've accepted the 750,000. That was more than fair for a guy who lost to Cintron who got embarrassed by Martinez when they gave him that draw. Also he's getting a shot against the MW champion. He was about to get a beating though.

exactly!!! a shot at the middleweight championship at a 155-156 lb catchweight. the crowd will be pro mexican, hes making $750k and he isnt puttin the 0 on the line cuz he already got outboxed by a guy who cant really box. imagine what sergio would do 2 him.

After taxes, and after paying people who are associated with him, he'll be lucky to bring home 200k. Money is the reason many of you guys call fighters cowards for refusing to fight someone, and then as a fan cry when a fight isn't made. Then you the fan quickly spit, "It's the most money he's ever made". STFW! You don't take the punches so wtf are YOU the fan crying about when a fight isn't made? I'm glad Angulo wants more money.
Your argument is poor at best. Of course purses are offered at gross to the fighter. So he is being offered $750K gross and to use your example he will take $200K home net.

So he turns down this money and accepts a fight for $400K gross and do you think his take home pay is more or less than if he would have accepted the $750K offer? So instead of taking your $200K home he takes $50K home.

So at the end of the day it is still probably a career high pay day for a title, or should I say titles, shot on premium cable channel. This fight bumping his purse up and beating martinez would have gotten him aid even better next time around and more exposure.
