if he was 2 fight a dude like joel julio at the sc, 2,000 people would show up. now if he fights sergio martinez for the middleweight title at the sc, i would think close to 10,000 people would show up.

I'll start by saying that I dont think Angulo is ready to face a fighter like Martinez, Williams or Pavlik.

with only 20 fights, he is still green, I know cintron out boxed him, again, "el perro" is still green and another lose by any fighter would hurt his career.

I understand what he is saying about him being the bigger draw in a city like LA, however I do think 750k is more than enough for him, hence: he still has to pay taxes and his corner.

I say face him vs Daniel Santos or Yuri Foreman before you want to throw him to the Cottos, Martinez, Williams and even a rematch with Cintron

He didn't demand a mil, and second this is his life...not yours. Angulo doesn't need Martinez now anyway.

For ****s sake! He ain't ever won anything big yet, he's not a big name in terms of being good and he's asking for more than that to fight the new Middleweight Champion of the world?

Ahhhh...this is the problem with boxing. They don't want to make a name for themselves anymore. They want their name given to them on a ****ing silver platter.

                  1. He is getting 750,000.
which on paper is a lot of money but think of it also like this

he is the one who is going to put asses in the seats.

let's clear some things up a bit

Perro's last two fights have been in So Cal. April he fought on the undercard of Arreola Adamek and while the crowd there was largely Arreola fans the response Perro received was every bit as raucous as Chris' response

same with the Bradley in fact most there would say the crowd was definitely more vocal and supportive of Perro.

so if the fight is in So Cal he is going to be the draw for this. Add to that Martinez getting significantly more and a % of the gate?

does it add up to you?

                  2. He is getting a title shot at a catchweight.
                  that means **** to him

                  3. Even if it was Bradley's fight does not mean anything. If he was in the undercard people would go and see him.
Perro's audience is growing each fight and he is starting to become very very popular here in So Cal

dont get me wrong 750k is a lot of money that few fighters ever see

however Perro does have a reason to balk

Trust Burner to hop on board straight away. Angulo doesnt even deserve a shot at the middleweight championship. You got so moist about Margarito getting a shot....but what has Angulo done at middleweight?

On top of that he was getting it at a catchweight of 155lbs. Then getting the biggest paycheque of his brief and unspectactular little career.

Yet the deal was "shyt" to you? *** outta here you clown

Angulo is not taking it because he knows he's going to lose. He would rather win, get paid less and keep fighting lesser fighters on HBO.
