Yeah Larry is right. The lineal champion is "the man who beat the man". It was started by Margarito vs Cotto. Margarito beat Cotto, Mosley beat Margarito, Mayweather beat Mosley. However, he is not a 7 time champ. Winning the lineal title back makes him the 6 time champ not 7.

However, 6 time champ and 6 division champ are two different things. If that is Larry agenda. Oscar was a 6 division champ but a 10 time champion.
