Do divisions get unfairly labeled "weak" if the top fighters are not American?

Tunney u done this topic to death. Will you let it rest. You wont change people's opinions.

Personally I like all types of boxers. I can understand why people hate Klitschko cause he is a safety first fighter not cause of his skin color, but I dont hate them. I think the middleweight division is stacked right now but cruiserweight nahhh. No fighters stand out. Huck/Drozd isnt special. Cunningham isnt really special. That division is a bunch of average fighters. Hw division only sucks cause all the contenders suck. It's not fun watching one sided fights all the time. Also us Americans arent even familiar with most Europeans cause we dont watch boxing networks from around the globe.

Btw, I dont hate European fighters. I like Pirog but I only found out about him cause he fought here. Abe is alright but im kinda leaning off his bandwagon. Sergei/Golovkin are nice as well but dont bring up Lemieux yet cause he hasnt proved himself, he could be another Tyron Brunson. Korobov is gonna be something as well.

Come on, outside of Steve Cunningham, David Haye, Tomasz Adamek and Marco Huck (and two of those guys are HWs now) how the hell is CW not weak? It was two decent fighters, and one of them already beat the other one.

As for Heavyweight, it was good at one point, but not right now. Seriously, who's really good besides the Klitschkos, Haye, Adamek and Solis if he let the cheeseburgers get a break? It was good at one point when it had guys like Ibragimov, and to Wlad's credit, he did beat every contender there, but you cannot look someone in the eye and say it doesn't suck. If a guy like Chris Arreola was the #1 HW, you know that s**t is weak as hell.

Middleweight was good at one point. It had Hopkins, Taylor, prime Miranda, Green, Pavlik, Abraham, Sturm, Sylvester, etc, but most of those guys either got KTFO, schooled, moved up or all of the above. It was pretty weak for a while, but now it has plenty of prospects who will turn the division into one of the most loaded ones.

        NO!!!

are some of you guys 13 and is just now starting to watch boxing?

the Heavyweight Division was called "WEAK" when my boy Lennox Lewis was dominating the division, people also questioned Mike Tyson level of competition, the level of competition got better AFTER Tyson got locked up

so all you Klitchko fans BITCHING about how "if they was black" lets not forget that Lennox had to deal with the EXACT same thing so that is BULL****, they are overlooked and might not be respected as much as they should because IN THE US because they are not Americans now that is very true, I personally like the Klitchko's and respect them both but the American media don't cover them AT ALL

that being said the Heavyweight Division is WEAK that is not the take away from the Klitchko's that is just FACTS, also the Cruisierwieght Division sucks and Steve USS Cunningham is the champion in that division, Cunningham is a former US Marine and he gets absolutely no coverage in the US, he had to go sign with Sauerland Events

          Not at all.

          EX:

LHW is a weak division that's dominated by Americans. FW is a strong division dominated by latinos.

Yeah ok dumbass, that's why 2 europeans came in and knocked off/nearly knocked off 2 high touted American fighters.

It's not a question of black or white. Colour doesn't come into it. You have to be American. You have to be able to be appropriated by Corp America. If you don't speak English, you're ****ed for a start.

That's the nature of business. Pretend some Euro fighters were American. I don't believe for a second, for a SECOND, that Joe Calzaghe would be hated by Americans if he had been American. That's the nature of it. I don't believe otherwise.

Even I'm affected by it sometimes, as a Euro fan I will believe some U.S fighters are better than their Euro counterparts, because I am being sold an image by Corp America. Sometimes I buy it.

Wrong. He only just burst onto the AMERICAN scene. I've been watching him for awile.

Does a fighter need to fight on HBO to be recognized?

Have you ever considered there may be talented boxers ELSEWHERE in the world that you haven't seen on American TV?

Lots of Eastern Europeans are very aggressive: Boytsov, Frenkel, Lebedev, etc.

Did you see what Denis Lebedev did to Maccarinelli? Watch him get destroyed again on Sep 18, this time by Alexander Frenkel.
