      Hopkins.

Floyd is a master at making adjustments (perfect examples are mosley, judah). Once floyd figures out those adjustments to make and the right amount of distance to keep, etc, it's a wrap. I don't really think floyd has much of a game plan, he just gets into the ring, sees what their about and adjusts accordingly.

Bernard is CONSTANTLY thinking. He's always thinking about setting up traps. he's thinking about what he's going to do 3-4-5 punches down the line. He even throws punches he purposely misses because he anticipates what the opponent will do and he'll nail you with a counter. Perfect example the knockout shot on Tito. On top of that he comes up with specific gameplans for specific opponents.

It's not a secret 'Nard uses dirty tactics. IYO, do you think he plans it or does he resort to them out of frustration?

It takes in-ring smarts to do that.

It is a tough question. I am not a good analyst, but more and more I think it's a survival technique. I think it's planned.

What Mayweather does fits the description of IQ more than what Bernard does. What Bernard does is the equivalent of being book smart that doesn't always translate to a high IQ. What Mayweather does is the equivalent of problem solving, breaking things down and understanding it.

Based on that I'd say Mayweather has the higher ring IQ.

floyd has a higher IQ. Fast adjustments. Great trap setter. psychic-like defense.

Nard is slicker when it comes to getting away with illegal tactics like flying headbutts off the ropes. Hitting on the hips and legs. faking getting punched in the nuts hard and laying there for 5 minutes resting.

Most definitely Hopkins. Mayweather relies on his boxing skill and natural gifts, while Hopkins is centered around his overall strategy and doing research on his opponent.

                    thats IQ for me.
