This thread is probably a response to the floyd loves money more than boxing thread..He listed those fighters because a lot people say that they fought for their fans...and when they stopped boxing and was broke their fans didnt care.

and why would they care? do these broke fighters thought of the fans when they were spending their millions? and now that they're broke the fans have to rescue them? i'm not saying that if you're a fan you have to stop being a fan once these fighters are done with their careers. but if they choose to ruin their personal lives, you as a fan has nothing to do with it.

There's plenty of professions that can make you a lot of money. It just so happens in Boxing that your reputation is just as important as the money you make. Both work hand in hand. Some know how to balance it, the examples you mentioned are ones that didn't.
