they got broke because they didn't know how to handle their money. it has nothing to do with how they chose to have a good legacy. anybody with lots of money can go broke in the future. when that happens, you can only wish you have a good legacy for what you've done in the past.

Tyson's version of broke is completely different than ours. Because of his legacy he will still get paid to be in a movie or show up as a guest on some show.

Then again people don't like Floyd like they do Tyson so...he better make his biggest payday and fight Pac soon.

In ALL SERIOUSNESS when you think about what happened to Joe Louis then you really understand where floyd's head is at. For all of you who talk about owe the fans and owe boxing, check what the fans and boxing did for Joe Louis. Fights for free for the USO and then they charge him with tax evasion. Defeats SChmeling and proves Hitler's theory wrong and can't get on a golf course. The fans and boxing are only there when its good. When you need them where are they at?

If I was a boxing manager I would provide my fighters with a course in "finance and money management." It's really a shame when you see a guy like Tommy Hearns or Evander Holyfield in dire fiscal straits; these guys were earning huge paydays in the 80s and 90s and still should have all of that money, and more. I remember I was watching the Holyfield-Bert Cooper fight the other day and in the telecast they said Holyfield was making, I think, $6 million or more...

Legacy and Money interlock, how do they make the most money ?, by fighting the biggest best names, how do you gain legacy ?, by fighting the biggest best names.

There's very few boxers that don't go broke.

This thread is probably a response to the floyd loves money more than boxing thread..He listed those fighters because a lot people say that they fought for their fans...and when they stopped boxing and was broke their fans didnt care.
