He'll take the easier fight - Martinez.

This could be hazardous to the fans who decide to attend the fight though. The sheer amount of tears which would inevidably be produced by these 2 fighters could cause everyone inside the venue to drown. Bring your snorkle.

Paul Williams just needs to rematch Sergio Martinez and stop
with the ducking because he ain't going to get a big $ fight at
          147. Dzinziruk may be a good fight to take BUT we all know that
Martinez is a fight he needs to take to clear up any doubts and
          settle things.

I wish HBO would pressure other fighters like this that deserve it a lot more (Berto, Juanma Lopez, Floyd, Khan).

I just watched Floyd vs Ndou from 2003 last night and floyd got 3 million just himself and didn't draw a crowd. 3 mil is decent but not great for this fight. Paul should just take it though and go for a shot at the legitimate middleweight title, even if he loses, there's no shame and it could set up a trilogy of classic fights, 3rd being on PPV.

Paul Williams is not ducking. The man made an announcement a few weeks ago that he was moving down to Welterweight. He hasn’t been shy about his desire to fight Mayweather and Pacquiao.

Why are some of you so called “boxing fans” constantly looking for a reason to hate on Paul Williams? The man has already proven he’ll fight the best boxing has to offer (regardless of the weight class).

Ya’ll are acting like this man didn’t already fight Sergio Martinez. Did Sergio improve that much since there last fight? I don’t think so. When Williams beat Martinez he pretty much beat the #1 fighter at Jr. Middle and Middle. When Williams beat Antonio Margarito, Margs was at the peak of his boxing career. So all you haters STFU about ducking and learn to pay attention to detail.

Williams has over 40 professional fights. He put his work in! Now he’s ready to get paid!!

Ironically enough, it’s the welterweights that have, are and will continue to duck Paul Williams. That’s the true travesty for boxing fans.

What if all the Jr. Lightweights and Lightweights ducked Chico Corrales because he was “too tall”?

HBO needs to support Paul Williams’ chase of either Pac or Mayweather. Until that happens Paul Williams’ October 2nd date should be against Andre Berto. C’mon HBO… gets your heads out of your bungholes!

All black fighters have more heart than anyone else. Period.

So you gonna put 5K on Alexander then against Kotelnik or are you still being a b*tch?

It'll be Martinez. Haymon is just pushing for more money.

Williams will fight either, and beat either. People act as if Martinez is gettign any younger with his style meant for a kid in his 20s.

I won't say Williams is ducking anybody. Williams plan to drop back down to 147 makes no sense at all because he has been there and done that and never got the fights he wanted to get so why try it again. Me personally I feel Williams hasn't done a damn thing to get a fight with PBF or Manny. Williams has 2 big wins in his career and one is very controversial. IMO Margarito was never good but it is considered a big win. So out of 40 fights you can't have a controversial win and good win and expect to fight PBF and Manny just not gonna work espcially when you bring nothing to the table.

IMO Williams needs to be honest and just say that his body can't make it at 154-160 on a full-time basis which why I drop down to 147 here and there. Williams can get all the fights he wants at 154-160 but yet he wants to go to 147 where he will not get any fights. Makes no sense. Al Haymon will never put Berto and Williams in a fight together.
